Let me tell you, we had quiet an unusual experience. We arrived around 22:30 and waited around 15 minutes for a table of six. We ordered pasta dishes, a pizza with trufle and I had a Pizza Burger.
Waited around 25 minutes for the food. The server brought Pasta Carbonara by mistake for two people from our table which a bit later we realised it was a mistake but they tasted it, myself included. Oh boy oh boy, such a rubbish with no taste. I am very serious, HAD NO Taste. Quickly thereafter, the server came and apologised that this wasn't their order and asked if they are OK with it or want to change, the girls of course changed it for the correct dish and let the server know that the dish was very bad and tasteless with the hope that the correct one will be tasty and guess what reader? The new pasta dish, equally if not worse. The dishes were so soulless, with no taste in cooking, lacking salt and any sort of seasoning. You literally ate cream mixed with some pasta.
When it comes to my Pizza Burger, it was a burger patty wrapped in pizza dough. Meat was medium rare including 3 layers of unmelted cheddar cheese with a pinch of amazing lack of salt and similarly NO TASTE. I was so pissed of at this point, paying 16.50 for a burger that was the worst experience in my life.
I will not be coming back and will not recommend this place to anybody. When it comes to food, you are supposed to represent every dish in such a way that defines you, there mustn't be such mistakes in cooking, one chance for tourists is all it takes. You had one chance and made my experience very bad, such a shame for a beautiful place where food...
Read moreIf you want to get something to eat before sampling the best nightlife that Valencia has to offer then Al Pomodoro is probably the place for you. A friend and I went here for dinner and the food is just perfect for sharing while having those great conversations that amazing food always seems to promote. The restaurant balances the look of an old-style Italian home with the freshness that you would expect from a modern restaurant.
We grabbed some pretty diverse options so we could sample the best that this place had to offer. The Cesto Fritto was fresh and the batter on the tempura was crisp – the ideal combination. The Sgabei Con Salse was a fresh take on pizza, which we have been looking for all our lives! It takes pizza dough, fries it and serves with a creamy cheese sauce, spicy salsa and black olive tapenade. You have to go to Al Pomodoro just for this.
The Tortellini Rustica Di Noci is like a taste of Italy on a plate. It is made fresh from scratch and tastes like it! The pasta is filled with a range of ingredients that includes nuts and tastes like you are sat in the Italian hills surrounded by family. Just amazing from the first bite to the last. We fought over every forkful! If you love the taste of truffles (who doesn’t?) then the Rigatoni Tartufo Gorgonzola will delight you. It did us!
Then the desserts are just as mouth-watering as the rest of the food. We got affogato and carrot cake with vanilla icing so we could share together. They both were the ideal way to finish a great meal. I recommend you visit al Pomodoro whenever you are in or near Valencia. It is worth it for...
Read moreThis Italian restaurant offers a lovely setting. The standout stars of the menu are undoubtedly the pizzas. The presentation is equally impressive, making each dish a feast for the eyes as well as the palate.
While the pizzas shone brightly, the pasta dishes were a bit of a mixed bag. The carbonara had an intense cheese flavor that might be overwhelming for some, while the diavola lacked the robust taste one might expect. However, the Parmigiana was a delightful exception, bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. With its charming ambiance and delicious pizzas, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. While some pasta dishes could use a bit of refinement, the overall experience is enjoyable and satisfying.
A great choice for pizza lovers and anyone looking to enjoy a pleasant Italian meal in a...
