We have been searching for a Mexican restaurant in Valencia that actually tastes authentic, and finally found one. While the dishes are smaller than what I'm used to, the flavor tastes like what my Mexican family makes. If there was a giant pile of rice and refried beans I would think I was back home.
We ordered the chicharrón de queso, which was very tasty. It came with 5 salsas ranging from Habanero down to a mild red, my husband especially loved the habanero and said it was the best salsa he had tried in Spain. I ordered a small plate called costra de bistec, which was very good. My husband ordered volcán con bistec and my friend the gobernador, and both enjoyed theirs as well. Finally we each ordered a different dessert and all were very good. We got a pastel de chocolate, ate con queso, and gelatina de vermouth. Read moreThe wonderful owners have achieved something rare these days: excellent dishes with high-quality ingredients & attentive service in a lovely location. This is Mexican food how we love it! Tasty, fresh & creative! We sat indoors on a warm evening, tempted in by the cosy ‘hacienda’ decor which really complements the food perfectly & creates the special atmosphere of this place. (Large ceiling fans provide enough cooling breeze.) After a few starters we couldn’t resist trying more tacos and everything was excellent! We will be back and wish we had found this place sooner! Do yourself a favour: skip the nearby mediocre, overpriced beer & tapas places and instead come directly here for drinks and a variety of delicious plates at very reasonable prices for the high quality of ingredients and cooking. The delightful owners deserve much success and congratulations at what they have...
Read moreWe had a magical night and meal at this neighborhood restaurant just off the beach in Valencia. We had a mix of appetizers and entrees along with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The host was particularly accommodating and brought us a sampling of multiple different salsas to accompany our main dishes. The beef tacos were tender and flavorful and the tuna achiote was magnificent: tender and flavorful. I will make a point to go out of my way to visit this...
