We stumbled upon this place during a stroll from the beach, drawn in by the decor. After reading the menu, deciding it seemed worth a try, we entered the outdoor seating area. A staff member was clearing tables but ignored us completely, walking off without a word.

Undeterred, we headed inside, expecting someone to greet and seat us. Instead, three different members of staff looked at us and carried on with their tasks, offering no assistance. In hindsight, we should have left then and there due to the glaring lack of customer service.

Eventually, someone casually told us to "sit wherever we liked". We chose the cleanest-looking table, though there was food debris on the floor nearby.

We scanned the QR code to view the menu. When a member of staff finally came to take our order, we enquired about the portion size of the tacos and were told it consisted of three tacos per portion. This seemed reasonable for €4.50, so we ordered the beef taco, along with chicken noodles (after being informed that modifications such as removing onions or mushrooms weren’t possible). We also ordered homemade nachos, sangria, and wine.

The food arrived after a wait, and here’s where the disappointment truly began:

Noodles: They were essentially instant pot noodles, with a small portion of chicken. While the chicken tasted fine, the dish felt overpriced and underwhelming.

Taco: Only one taco arrived, contrary to what we were told.

Nachos: Edible but underwhelming, lacking guacamole and cheese.

Drinks: More ice than drink, making them weak and watered down.

Throughout the meal, no one checked on us to see if we were satisfied or needed anything. Our dishes were eventually cleared, but no one offered dessert or brought the bill in a timely manner. We had to request it, and even then, we waited another 20 minutes.

To top it off, despite the poor service and lacklustre food, we were handed a QR code to leave a review—a bold move, considering the experience.

We left hungry, disappointed, and feeling like our money had been wasted. I struggle to understand how this place has a 4.6-star rating given the poor service and substandard food.

I would not...

The first impression? A symphony of attentive staff. They swooped in like glitter-coated ninjas, whisking away empty plates and reading my mind for drink refills. Seriously, if I even thought about needing a napkin, one would materialize in my hand. I swear, the owner must have trained them with telepathy.

Now, the food. It was, well, let's say familiar. Like your favorite childhood blanket - comforting, but maybe not winning any awards at a Michelin star competition. But hey, the beach breeze was my appetizer, the people-watching my main course, and the sunshine was the perfect dessert.

The atmosphere? Picture this: think Ibiza's cool cousin who doesn't take itself too seriously. Think breezy whites, comfy cushions, and enough chill vibes to rival a penguin colony. The temperature was spot on too, like a perfectly reheated hug - not too cold, not too hot, just right.

Now, here's where things took a turn for the hilarious (or horrifying, depending on your perspective). The restrooms. Imagine a porta-potty that somehow crash-landed in a disco ball factory. Cramped, questionably clean, and about as luxurious as a cardboard box. Let's just say my behind, usually a trooper, started whispering about a five-star spa treatment, not this...situation.

So, here's the moral of the story: Boa Beach is fantastic! Great service, awesome vibes, but for the love of all things holy, upgrade those restrooms! Until then, maybe pack some industrial-strength air freshener and pray for a generous helping of...

Proceed with caution if you are a person of colour!

Had the worst waitress, incredibly rude to me but very nice to the table behind me which were a group of locals and table in front of me, I'm from the UK but of colour. She put the food and drink down at my table in silence but to the one behind she said enjoy your drinks and food to the group when she served them. Awful woman, and disgusting service, ignored me every time I would say thank you, wouldn't look me in the eye etc.

She went out of her way to exclude me and make it known she had a problem when she should have been professional, I'm a customer like everyone else. There was only one clear difference between me and everyone else in the restaurant... It's 2023 not 1923 and that experience was completely unacceptable and really affected the end of my trip. Imagine how you would feel if you had this happen to you Boa Beach Staff, just because you look different? It wasn't a case of her having a bad day because she was able to smile and be polite to everyone else, feel free to check CCTV for proof as well, it was like night and day with how she treated the others. Absolutely disgusted. I was just trying to enjoy my last night in an otherwise beautiful city.

If management see this please train up your staff to be accepting of all. She was brunette, dark auburn, long hair, petite, white jeans and floral shirt working around 10pm...
