Destí 56 — Restaurant in Valencia

So I found this restaurant online and tried to book it as the food looked good and so did the prices, they said it was full but to come in the evening because they might have a few cancellations. I don’t believe any of that was true as when we got there they were desperately trying to lure people in with promoters on the street - Im guessing their plan was to pretend as if it was really populated so that we would go there, much to my embarrassment, it worked. The restaurants atmosphere was quite nice, it was very stylish and modern which was what we were originally looking for, but the staffs attitudes was what really put us off. They had no wine menu? So I asked a rather simple question to the waiter “how much would a glass of white wine be?”, he looked very confused and had to ask his colleague so already it seemed like the staff was inexperienced. I ordered the hamburger which said on the menu that it came with guac, goats cheese and caramelised onions. I asked for them to replace the goats cheese with any other cheese for personal preference and it seemed as though I had made the biggest hassle of the waiters career, it didn’t help that his English wasn’t great. So anyway my burger arrived with a slice of sandwich cheese, okay whatever that’s fine at least it’s not goats cheese. But this burger looked so bland, they had seriously skinted on the guac to the point where I only remember eating it once I got to the end of my burger and most importantly they had just chopped up some normal red onions as if I wouldn’t notice that I was supposed to receive caramelised onions?? I don’t know if it was laziness or they genuinely thought I’d be too stupid to realise but nonetheless I had to wait to talk to the waiter which took a lifetime as did everything else other than the food service. In general the food was okay, nothing fantastic and would say it was probably overpriced, but the staff in general was poor. There didn’t seem to be enough of them, with enough experience either for the number of people in the restaurant, the people making the sushi on the side of the restaurant were even shouting at the waiters about their incompetence. There were a number of questions and requests that just never seem to get back to me and waiters that were not “supposed” to wait our tables flat out refused to respond to us and would walk away if we asked for something. The manager or owner of this restaurant clearly doesn’t care about the level of their staff expertise or the evening experience of their customers. They are hiring only girls and non of them is a professional waitress. What that means no one is smiling to the customers, from the hostess who looks so tense to the all waitresses and even bartender 😅 . I took 27min to order food as paella they serve for 2 people minimum so I order hamburger. It was Black Angus hamburger the worst hamburger ever I had, without any taste and it was cold there is no where salt or pepper so good luck. Next door is burger king when I saw it I regret even seating in this restaurant. I wanted to pay with card but minimum for cars is 50euro, no where written the policy so I have 50euro as didn't have anything smaller. It took them 11min to return the money only after I asked 3 times when I can get it back and the waitress was like its coming I stood up very angry and she is coming with a money. There are 8 waitress and only 7 tables occupied and serves is horrible. There is 1 guy I assume manager who is lost in life I was restaurant manager and when I was looking at him he doesn't understand hospitality probably that is why no care what kind of food is serve or what quality of the service it is as important is that girls are looking pretty and to bring somehow food to the table. Advice for people who are reading you have by far restaurants on that strip that can please you taste but this one is really horrible even considering its next to the sea so never high exceptations. We ordered a paella for two for more than 30€ and got a pan full of rice and octopus and 2 shrimps. I asked why there is so little shrimps and nothing else and octopus, the lady told me she doesn’t know she’s not the boss here. When we ordered earlier the waitress said it’s a paella with shrimps and the crayfish. I asked her what’s the differences to the other paella she said it’s the same only in this paella the meat is pealed. I showed her the picture of their poster at the front, we want that (first picture I posted). She said that’s it but only pealed. We got 2 shrimps and nothing else, no crayfish, paid over 30€ for that. I wasn’t happy at all but no waitress cared enough to do something about it. One server told me the cook would have missed the fact they put only 2 shrimps in there, that happens sometimes. At the end I ordered some salmon (18€) and got a plate with a piece of salmon and bell pepper to that. Two drinks and the starter (nachos) and the bill reached 75,90€. My daughter was exited for the shrimps and crayfish, instead we paid an extreme high bill and left with dissatisfied half full stomachs. Really bad service and no will to be fair and give at least a reduction of the price. No tip, no recommendation to go there unfortunately. Second photo is what we got.
