Really nice experience, it's both delicious and fun at the same time. The decor and aesthetics feel quite natural and harmonise whikst still being modern. You will feel comfortable there. Even when it got quite busy (and it does) they were never saturated. Tables are not too close together, and higher traffic areas are actually quite spacious in foresight. Ambience is really good. We had the the table for little over an 1.5h and it felt like half that time. Staff are attentive and speak English too. They put this massive tub in your table with the desired base and you choose the things you want to eat, it comes along on a robot (literally) and then you take your things and cook those things in the "pot" bubbling at your table. It really is quite an experience as everything arrives together and so you decide how well done you want your food and ihe order you want to eat it in.
For men, you may find the aprons are small; if you have broad shoulders you will likely receive a little bit of splash in that area - recommend to wear something dark! Parents take care for very young children as the pot bubbling at the table tends to spit a little.
Although baskets are provided, they are quite small relative to the size of the menu items and the construction means it only submerged about halfway into the stock. ( volume about 5 cubic cm) this makes them impractical. I think the experience could be improved by using a spice bag so you are not pulling up chilli flakes and leaves as well as a (larger) basket more appropriate for the menu; for example I got the spicy hot pot and it unavoidable to not dredge up a bunch sticks amd leaves and flakes. I lost about half the noodles in this mixture (flakes, leaves, pods, branches etc) and then the quantity you manage to plate which is about 50% of that mixture which you then you are plucking out noodles etc from branches and flakes on your plate with oily, slippery chopsticks which kind of hurt the experience a little. That said, I really think the experience as a complete package is on the cusp of 5 stars; - just a few details to iron out. Definitely a must visit, we will be...
Read moreI've been wanting to try out this place for the last year. Just before Christmas I decided to treat my family and we booked a table on Christmas Eve.
First impression is not that great. We arrived at 7pm which is quite early but we wanted to avoid the rush. The tables were not cleaned up and still had the remnants from the afternoons service. They obviously left to clean it up in the evening. Dirty dishes and glasses on many tables is not a nice thing to see when you step in the restaurant.
We were then seated (next to dirty tables) and the waitress who obviously just got in for her shift, rushed through the instructions. Before we could ask, she dashed off, so we had to figure it out for ourselves, and ask someone else.
The food however, were nicely presented, and it came really quickly. The robot waiter is a nice feature, my son enjoyed that experience. We opted for the set menu for three people. It was more than I expected, and a good way to introduce yourself to Chinese hot pot if it's your first time. We were really impressed with the food, and there's more than enough!
Apart from the dirty tables left from the afternoon and the not so friendly waitress, everything...
Read moreThe ambience and food was good. The only thing this restaurant need to improve on is the time they give their customers to dine in. Basically, we were given 1.5 hours to dine in. By the time we sit down, ordered our food and the food arrived, 30 minutes gone. So, we were left with 1 hour to eat. Best part is the staff will come to ask you if you have finish or you still wanna eat because your time is up! Obviously, they saw we are still eating. They will even confirmed with you that their colleagues already informed you about the time you should leave when you enter the restaurant. If you want to limit the time customers dine in, make it at least 2 to 2.5 hours. How on earth people can finish their food (hot and spicy soup) in 1 hour time. Best part is the waiter will put the bill on your table and ask you to go pay before you even ask for the bill. Avoid this place on weekend. You can try on weekdays if you don't want to have a stressful meal. To be fair, we like the food but not the rush, stressful and the rude service...
