Went here after reading many positive reviews so we thought we’d give it a go. Ordered the BBQ chicken wings and Mac & Cheese bites to start, followed by the Chicken Nacho’s and Mixed Fajitas for mains. The Mac & Cheese bites were cold inside, whilst the BBQ chicken wings were exceptionally pale and definitely not barbecued, they looked more like they had been cooked in a microwave oven because they were cold and totally pale in colour with no signs of the BBQ scorching you’d expect. We complained to the waitress and she accepted our complaint about the Mac & Cheese bites, but refused to accept that the BBQ wings weren’t barbecued because they came with a pot of BBQ sauce! Anyway, she took them both back and returned. The BBQ wings this time were done correctly and tasted very nice. The Mac & Cheese bites were still cold, we didn’t want to complain a second time about them because by the time they had gone back and come back again the chicken wings would have been stone cold if we waited, or eaten. Our mains arrived and the bowl of Chicken Nachos had very, very little chicken in it, probably not even a small thighs worth, and whilst there was a huge pile of Nachos, it was all very dry and tasteless and certainly not worth the money they wanted for it. My Mixed Fajita meat/veg/prawns arrived on one of those skillet things that was meant to sizzle/spit/give off steam and smoke, but this was stone cold. It looked like they had cooked mine in a pan and thrown it onto a cold skillet for presentation, so I complained and they took it back and it arrived 5 minutes later, this time sizzling and smoking as it should. The meat content was very limited, and having ordered a mixed chicken, beef, and prawns, there were 3 very small prawns, and the chicken content wouldn’t have been enough to make a small chicken leg, and the beef content not enough to make a small meatball. By the time it came out again the Fajitas had gone hard and crispy like popadoms and were awful. We complained again and the manager knocked the Mac & Cheese bites off the bill but refused to do anything about the rest. We paid the bill and left exceptionally hungry and dissatisfied,...
Read moreNot overly impressed with the food quality in this place. We started with the garlic prawns and a goats cheese salad. The salad tasted very nice but it was quite small though, especially considering the price which was almost €10. The prawns weren't the best either. They didn't come across as overly fresh. Some of them tasted a bit weird and they were falling apart. Also, we only got one small piece of bread with it. We did ask for more which was given to us, so all good there. As main we shared a T-bone steak which was recommended by the waiter. Besides the fact that the steak wasn't a T-bone the meat was actually not too bad and it was cooked medium as requsted. The steak came with fries and veggies which both were dismal at best. The fries were really soggy and tasted like they'd been reused and reheated and the veggies were your standard watery cubed ones straight out of a plastic bag from the nearest supermarket. Certainly expected more from a €25 dish (most expensive on the menu). All-in-all a very disappointing meal which was a bit unexpected considering the fairly good reviews this restaurant has achieved in the past. Can't recommend this place and we certainly won't be...
Read moreLa Rustica Parilla (grill)....so very very excellent! We went as a family and had the Fillet steak and foie with port reduction, Tagietelle with prawns and a childs fish and chips. Ok, my 9 year old really enjoyed his fish and chips. My wife really really enjoyed her home made pasta dish. Oh my goodness.... The fillet steak with foie was absolutley amazing. It was first of all, of extremely high quality, flavoursome, perfectly cooked medium rare and tender. I watched the chef put the steak on the grill, and he expertly grilled it to perfection, thin slice of foie on the top, and a port reduction with a buttery mash. It was a generous piece of steak. Honestly I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. It is part of the same business as the pasta and pizza restaurant, aloso very good, but higher up (first restaurant) going towards the town centre opposite the church. The wine is mainly the Yaiza Malvasia excellent local wine. Chef and front of house know what they are doing. Thank you thank you.we will be...
