Second visit here - some of the staff were ruder than the first visit - one waitress in particular, was unbelievably rude. Started off ordering drinks, you would swear it was too much trouble, drinks thrown down - ordered food, baguette threw at us all over one members shorts, ended up on the floor - no apology just I’ll get you another one it’ll be 5 minutes/ you’ll have to wait. Tried to order a second round of drinks - felt like it was too much trouble for them to bring them over. No pleasantries what so ever - just rude, arrogant and miserable. This was the same with all of the tables around us. Then when the bill came - charged €18 for 4 portions of fries with the sandwiches - explained that as per the menu states €1 extra for fries with a baguette, wouldn’t have it - said we ordered fries but we didn’t specify the €1 fries even though we pointed to it on the menu! Collectively 3 waitresses came around the table to argue with us. Food was reasonably priced - Bill was €101 - no way was I paying €18 for 4 lots of fries ! They made such a scene at the table it was embarrassing!! Great location but the female staff who served us were awful. The lads who work there work extra hard and a friendly, which is why I gave it a 2* rating. Such a shame the staff have no personality and are so miserable and don’t welcome your custom as there are plenty of places to...

I have eaten and drank here so many times over the last 5 years. The ladies who wait tables and serve here are so friendly and welcoming. I regularly get a high five or a hug or just handshake. The male waiter and the male bartender are so rude and downright ignorant I will struggle to continue to support this bar/restaurant. They need a course on customer care and a real change in attitude or career path!! Fabulous location and good food but I will not put up with such bad service and ignorant behaviour. The robust waiter avoids contact and continuously walks with one order to a table and then spends the next 5 minutes wiping tables that are not essential while everyone else is waiting to order. When he does eventually serve a table not a word of welcome or gractis?? They make the worst Mojito on the planet which at €8.50 is not cheap by Spanish costs. More ice and mint without much alcohol! I went back to the bartender to ask for a few slices of lime in my glass rather than only mint leaves and he lost the plot only to tell me mojitos only have lime juice not lime slices which add a bitter flavour in his opinion. He needs to listen to the customer. I like the bitter taste of the limes but more important I like the sugar cane rum which must have evaporated!! Sorry but not a good...

Stars given with FACTS method. Every aspect earns a star if it is good and I'll grade the details seperately. This means it might not be "wauw" and it might just be ok but at least you'll know hobedtly what to expect.

F(ood): we had lunch here. Theres a variety of bocadillos (panini) or grilled sandwiches (tosti/croque monsieur), a hotdog, salads or paella. It all looked ok. My paella was gonna take about 20 min and I got updated halfway it was gonna be another 10 min so nice of the waitress to keep me updated. Also good that it doesn't arrive after 5 min actually! All our food looked just ok but it was tasty and not expensive.

A(thmosphere): its a nice bar with sea view with enough parasols for shade

C(hildren): nothing special but they'll find something to eat they'll like.

T(oilets): for being beach side and probably used by many it's clean enough

S(taff): staff is friendly and speaks good enough english to understand my not so good english...

Had some lunch here. Menu stated "chips with cheddar cheese and bacon", we ordered these along with a few other bits. When it arrived it was very clearly cheese sauce rather than actual cheese, I spoke to one of the waitress and all she was doing was arguing that it wasn't cheese sauce and it was cheddar cheese and was extremely rude about it. I made it very clear it was cheese sauce and that we don't like it and she just walked away. When our table was being cleared, another waitress queried the untouched chips and even mentioned that she doesn't like the "cheese sauce" also. I told her about the arguement with another server and asked for the bill. We were still charged for the untouched food that we had queried about. I am not going to get into an outright arguement over €7 so i left it. The other food was OK and the location was good. I wouldn't return again solely for this interaction, had been there many times before and never had an issue.

Well I think we can agree, most of us come to Lanzarote for the good weather and beautiful beaches. This one is not disappointing by any means. A beautiful man-made Bay with high rock walls on 3 sides which not only protect you from the winds but also creates a safe haven for everyone to swim. With its gorgeous soft white sand and turquoise water it really is paradise. There are many shops, bars and even water sports nearby and if you come by car, there is ample free parking a few minutes walk from the beach. At the moment, due to Covid, there aren't as many travellers which means oodles of space but I can imagine in 'normal' times, it can get pretty busy.

We visited Playa Dorada in September 2017. It was a long walk from our hotel but it was wort it. It is quite busy beach but it’s big with lovely sand and plenty of nearby attractions like bars, restaurants, sun loungers, parasols, water sports and more. The water gets deep quite quickly so I’m not sure if it’s the best place for kids but my husband and I had a lot of fun. Water is very clear and you can see fish swimming around you. Playa Dorada is definitely worth visiting if you are near by.
