I first visited this lively Chinese restaurant in January 2018, after friends and family told me it was a nice place and well worth a visit.

It wasn't the best all round experience due to service issues, and therefore only went once.

However, during my stay in Playa Blanca earlier this month, I decided to give it another try. On this visit I only ordered the main meal, and I wasn't disappointed, the food was really tasty and a good sized portion was served. I had a refreshing large chilled beer and the bill was very reasonable.

I decided to pay another visit three nights later, and found that the place was very busy, which resulted in a much slower service, even though there was plenty of staff.

All in all, despite the longer than average wait between starter and mains, the staff were very friendly and helpfull, food was good and the prices nothing to complain about. There are great views overlooking the port, and when the ferry arrives from Fuerteventura, it is very easy to think it is getting a lityle too close for comfort.

I look forward to eating here again next time i'm in Playa Blanca.

Visting Playa blanca in February 2019, I was really looking forward to visiting this Chinese restaurant again.

How disapointing this visit was, the service was good, but the quality of the food served was lacking.

We ordered a chicken and pineapple and egg fried rice, and a garlic chicken and egg fried rice. The dishes duly arrived, the pineapple chicken looked and tasted that a tin of pineapple chunks had been poured into a pot and boiled up, and served with the chicken.

The garlic chicken chicken was served with what looked like a bulb of garlic roughly chopped and half cooked served with the chocken, most of the garlic was firm and raw and unedible.

Needless to say, I will not be back in this...

We visited Asiatico as a couple & felt immediately welcomed by the staff. The staff were busy the whole time we were there, but this allowed us to feel both cared for/not forgotten but also not rushed. Our server was brilliant, explaining different dishes & guiding us through the menu. As a vegetarian it's sometimes difficult to find good options while away, but this place did not disappoint. I asked for the Malaysian vegetable curry & our server made sure it was then made without fish sauce to ensure it was suitable for me. My curry was beautiful & had so much flavour. My partner had the beef & black bean sauce which he described as 'the best he ever had'. Melt-in-the-mouth beef & a sweet honey-like flavour in the sauce. We also ordered plain rice & had vegetable spring rolls & Chinese bread for starters. The rice was lovely & sticky. The spring rolls were so flavourful as well as the Chinese bread which was fluffy on the inside but light & crispy on the outside. Would go great with a little bit of sauce/butter perhaps. Our meals did take a while to arrive, but this allowed us to take time to enjoy ourselves, given any top up of drinks was almost immediate. And it made us confident that the food was indeed very freshly prepared. Would absolutely visit again on...

To quote my husband 'i now know why the oil prices are so high' - as most of it was in our food last night. Having reviewed some Chinese restaurants we were debating between this one and Mr Panda but Asiatico seemed to come in first place. I can confirm THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. The nicest part of the meal was the wine - bottle of Vina Sol.

We ordered a combination starter as we fancied a few different bits. Once it came out we were concerned, it was dripping in oil. They also brought out a small bowl with water to clean your hands, you would expect this when ordering chicken wings or similar but I believe it's to clean the oil from your hands. We tried to stay positive and hoped the main would be better We ordered beef with black bean and Thai crispy beef. The meat dishes itself were fine but the accompanying rice and noodles were dripping with oil. You could see how shiny the food was. Every bite was very difficult.

We did not eat a lot, paid the bill and left. Both of us did not feel well after, my husband worse than me

Maybe the others who have reviewed enjoy the oily food or maybe we got a bad dinner - not sure but I would not...

Very disappointed. We ordered a set menu for two at 8:30pm, and by 10:35 we had ask where the main course was. Ridiculously slow service, taking about two and a half hours in total!!. The food was mediocre at best. The ribs were dry and overcooked, with no sauce. The duck for the duck pancakes was also dry and not seasoned with the same marinades you normally expect, also the hoi sin sauce with it (normally the best bit) was bland and watery. The Cantonese sizzling steak was again lacking in flavour, with a bland watery sauce, not the sweet sticky sauce we expected. The price was reasonable, but in future I would rather pay a bit more somewhere else for food that I actually enjoyed. My advice is avoid!
