SHOCKING RESPONSE TO FOOD ISSUE.

We turned up on Saturday lunchtime. Ordered a couple of drinks. Ordered a Lasagne and a grilled squid. All came in a timely fashion. No problem with the level of service but when we raised an issue with the Lasagne which had a seriously burnt oval bit of food at the bottom of the dish we felt it wasn't addressed. I cut it open and it stank. Bizarrely enough the rest of the dish was quite nice and wasn't tainted with this issue. At this stage we had nearly finished our meal. We showed it out to the waiter who said he would point it out to the chef & manager. The manager came after it was taken away and we naively thought we would get an apology and maybe some kind of reduction. To be fair we had finished the squid meal which was good and as I said earlier the lasagne meal was quite nice so we were not wanting a free meal but more of a recognition of the problem. Maybe a free drink or something as a recompense. Unfortunately nothing was forthcoming. We asked for the bill ( la cuenta) and it came with no reduction. My wife wanted me to complain but I didn't want to create a fuss. She said the staff were laughing at us and she felt intimated , I don't know why but I didn't take a picture of the offending piece of food. Plus I didn't under pay, which I should have done, in fact I left a gratuity.....it's Always hard in this situation....I'm not sure we handled it right. La Rustica is everything you'd want from a tourist town high street restaurant. It's good food. And it's always good. It doesn't change. It's good service. It's always good. It doesn't change. And when something is good. And reliable. That's worth a premium. But I keep going back as you reading this should too. Because not only is it all that. It's very good value for money too. The breakfast (English) is genuinely world class and always on offer price. The pizzas and pasta dishes are always and I mean without fault, every time, cooked and prepared to the highest standard in Playa Blanca. I even had a kebab from their earlier in the year and have been back since. It's as good as a kebab from any kebab shop in town.

Thanks to Rustica for the consistency and quality across a wide range of options. Including the massive table for 6 share sized pizza!! Will keep returning. Oh and (tho I haven't yet asked the name of the lady who works there most days during the day) thanks to her, for caring about her customers. She saved me a parking fine recently. She came out the restaurant to warn me. That is worth the world. Thank you to her for her service to La Rustica and the customers of. Good food and good staff. Is because of good people chose and trained by good management. Best...

Looking at previous reviews we must have been unlucky, the food was ok but the service was not brilliant. We almost did not go in as every other restaurant in the street was packed and we were wondering why this one had hardly anyone in.

We ordered 4 starters, they didn't serve them all at the same time, we received the first one 15 minutes before the other three. It was a similar story with the mains, three mains arrived and we sat waiting for the fourth persons meal for about 10 minutes.

We asked the waiter where the other meal was as the food was getting cold and he said it was still being cooked, we told him the food should all come out together as it was not ideal for one person to be left eating on their own, we had come out to eat together, he told us he was just the waiter and he served food when it was ready and if we were unhappy we should complain to the chef not him. We told him not to bother with the other meal and we shared the three meals we had received between us. Needless to say we will not...
