A friend of ours told us about this place so we booked a reservation and while we did not end up being able to reserve a jail cell, there are three of which you can reserve in advance, we stopped in tonight for an excellent dinner.
The restaurant is quirky and original. 1920’s era US prohibition posters and such.
Inside the restaurant there are seats for 50 people in combination of three jail cells with seating for four in each cell and a number of tables seating for both four or more people and tables for two.
The table service and attention by the wait staff is superb. We ordered the patatas bravas Jenga and the traditional Cachopo.
The quality of the ingredients starting off with the potatoes and the accompanied sauce is incredible next the main dish was nothing short of amazing. The breading used was light crunchy the beef was tender flavorful and no hint of fat, The ham was flavorful tender and the cheese just as good. If I had to fault anything it would be that there were no flame grilled red peppers which I think is quite traditional with Cachopo….. That being said the flavor and the texture and the quality of the ingredients makes this hands-down one of the best Cachopo’s I have ever eaten.
Last but not least the Cheesecake and the crumble is straight up divine. I tend to enjoy cheesecakes that are a little bit more dense but this was creamy, flavorful and just enough density…..a true delight!
The wait staff was attentive from the minute we walked in the door until they kindly showed us the way out.
The prices are more than reasonable given the quality of the food and the attention to detail, not to mention a three minute walk from the front door of my building.
We look forward to going back and trying some of their other dishes, and maybe the next time we will land...
Felicidades equipo ! Volveremos...
Read moreVery original restaurant set on the 1920s USA mafia. The hanging smoked entrees are amazing (tried them twice) and the desserts too. As a "negative" I must say you must be wise when choosing your Cachopos as they are wildly different from each other. On this last visit we had the two out of menu one's and they were great, but on our first visit we had the one with cecina which was a pain to cut without destroying it.
But anyways, a 10/10 place.
PS: Don't forget to check out the tommy gun replica besides...
