Thank you for your response to my wife's review down below. I appreciate that you are taking our feedback seriously. However, I must say that our review was based on our genuine experience at your restaurant. At least take some time to understand and reply to your guests reviews rather than bluntly expressing your rage on negative reviews. While we have pointed discrepancy in the taste, you are asking to share pictures of the food. Is it even relevant asking. Hope you understand my point. I want to emphasize that our comments were about both the food and the service. It’s not just our opinion; other travelers have shared similar views regarding the quality of service and the overall welcome received at your place. We noticed a few tables around us leaving food on their plates. Is it a good sign. Rather than viewing this as an argument, I hope you see it as constructive criticism. Our intention is to encourage improvements in both food quality and service for all future guests. As travelers, we share our experiences to help others make informed choices. I kindly suggest focusing on these areas for improvement. And we hope a negative reply to this message would only prove your lack of...

I only ate at the restaurant, I didn’t stay, but you must try this out when you’re hungry or have a friend.

Hoppers and curry-rice dishes were incredible and vegan friendly. I was suspicious reading “best hoppers in weligama” but I have to say I completely agree! The rice curry meal can easily be shared between two people (same with the hoppers if you get more hoppers and juice). It’s also an incredibly balanced feed - popping the curries into Cronometer or a nutrition tracking app is very satisfying.

I also did the cooking class which was fantastic! It was 5000 rupees at the time and I would highly recommend it. You will make the rice curry dish with its 4-5 side curries. And it’s wonderful to see how clean the food is, it’s all home cooked and uses very little oil (except for one dish).

The vegetable noodles (suggested by staff) were disappointing and not really filling especially considering they were 1200 (same price as the curry rice). They need more vegetables or some protein to be that price in my opinion! However, given the amazing quality of the main dishes, I don’t think one sad dish should cost this review a star.

I would stick with the hoppers and curry, but I’ll...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Dulnetha in Welgama, Sri Lanka, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience! This gem of a restaurant serves up authentic Sri Lankan cuisine that's both delicious and flavorful.

Food:

The dishes I tried were truly mouth-watering, showcasing the rich flavors and spices of Sri Lankan cooking. Each bite was a taste sensation, and I appreciated the attention to detail in the preparation and presentation.

Service:

The staff at Dulnetha were warm, friendly, and attentive, making us feel right at home. Their excellent customer service skills ensured that our dining experience was nothing short of fantastic.

Cooking Classes:

What sets Dulnetha apart is their cooking classes for foreign customers. This is a fantastic opportunity for visitors to learn about Sri Lankan cuisine and cooking techniques from experienced chefs.

Overall:

Dulnetha is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the best of Sri Lankan food and hospitality. The combination of delicious cuisine, excellent service, and cooking classes makes it a standout restaurant in the region. I highly recommend Dulnetha to anyone visiting...

Didn’t stay here but came for the food. The staff were very friendly and offered us the mosquito repellant which we had forgotten to apply so very grateful. Nice and relaxed vibe. The vegetarian curries were really good - the pumpkin and green bean in particular. They came with the main curry that you order. In fact all the side dishes were delicious. The fish and seafood curries were both a bit on the fishy side for my liking. The Kottu roti was also good and would recommend the coconut and honey hopper as a sweet treat/dessert. Also ordered the special fried rice that was decent and the hot batter prawns which we all enjoyed

The best restaurant I have seen in Sri Lanka. Not only the service was excellent but we also get the best curry we have tried! We are travelers from Germany, Ireland and Mexico traveling through different places in Sri Lanka and we all agree that this is the best food we have eaten in the country. The price is really good, you pay 500 rupee's for a huge bowl of rice with 5 different currys. The place is attended by two really gentle and nice girls that will welcome you with a warm smile. A must in Sri Lanka.
