Restaurant weligama — Restaurant in Weligama

We decided to try Meyola because of good Google reviews. But it was a total disappointment. Overrated place. And overpriced as well. 1800 LRS for a cold and tiny chicken burger even without any sides. Also we were waiting for about 40 minutes, while the restaurant was empty, only 3 of us were waiting. Staff are friendly and good guys, but that kind of food doesn’t cost this money. We’ve been in Weligama for a long time, so we know the real local prices and real quality. And Meyola doesn’t match my expectations at all. Nothing personal, just my honest opinion.

P.s. we got a little discount because we said the burgers were cold. It saved the situation a little bit. That’s why I put 2 stars and not 1. But in the whole guys it’s not good at all. Either make the food better or prices...

We went there with a group of 4 person, I ate the fish pasta, which was the best I had in Sri Lanka, I really recommend it, the sauce and fish was amazing. We had 2 tuna bowl, which were also very taste but a little sweet, with lots of mango. While ordering I told the waiter I was really hungry, therefore he made my portion extra bigger and recommended to get the fish pasta. The chicken kothu was a giant portion too. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures as I was too hungry to wait for all the food arriving 😅 definitly recommend this place!

Had devilled chicken and vegetable rice and curry. Both were really tasty, although the leeks could use a more thorough wash to get rid of some more sand. Spiciness was on point. Even though they (like many others) struggle with sudden powercuts, they did their best to still accommodate us despite this. Prices are fair for both quality and size of portions.
