I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sam's Place in Weligama, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The restaurant is conveniently located near the beach, providing a cozy and relaxed atmosphere that perfectly complements the coastal vibes of Weligama.

The menu at Sam's Place is diverse, featuring a great selection of Sri Lankan dishes and international cuisine. I ordered the seafood platter and the Sri Lankan chicken curry, both of which were exceptional. The seafood was incredibly fresh, cooked to perfection, and the curry was rich in flavor, with just the right amount of spice.

The staff at Sam's Place were friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. They were more than happy to accommodate our special requests and provided excellent service throughout our meal. We came to Sam's Place every day—whether for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, before or after surfing, at different times of the day—and tried almost everything on the menu. We can confidently say that this is the best food in Weligama, and beyond!

Their rice and curry is hands down the most flavorful we’ve had in Sri Lanka, and the passion fruit juice is a perfect refresher after surf lessons. A huge thank you to the wonderful people working here who made every visit even more enjoyable with their kindness and warm hospitality.

The food was great, the service was even better!

We went there two times for dinner. My recommendation’s the Chicken curry bc for some reason you get like 6 different small dishes with rice instead of only chicken curry and that was deeelicious!

Also some surf school was trying to rip me off, call the police and make me pay like 400$ for “destroying” their surfboard (it was super old and very likely already broken beforehand). The people working at Sam’s place immediately helped me out. They’re...
