Made in China might sound like an odd name, but behind it is a Pan-Asian restaurant located right at Tredje Långgatan. The concept is based on sharing many smaller dishes and indulging in those. How does the vegan side of Made in China look like? Spoiler alert: pretty darn good. The industrial atmosphere of Made in China can be a bit menacing at the beginning, but the friendly staff will make you comfortable quite fast. Once seated, you will find the menu on the table on a printed paper that also serves as a table cloth. A bit rough, but it works. The concept of Made in China is to order a lot of different dishes and share them with your company. Thankfully, many options are vegan and though through. If you are overwhelmed, the staff will help out. We went for almost all of it. Starting with Edamame coated in a fantastic Teriyaki sauce and rice chips with chili aioli, you will get a great first impression. Other things on the menu include a cucumber salad, watermelon sashimi, bao buns with sweet sambal coating, mushroom gyoza and broccoli stir fry. The cucumber salad is coated in a sesame-lime dressing that is just on point. The watermelon sashimi is a bit odd, but definitely a well composed experience. And my personal favourite is the broccoli. Umami-rich, charred flavours and a perfect balance of chili gives it a comforting kick. Eat it with the soy and sesame rice! The dishes come in batches, first snacks, then uncooked, then mains and then buns, but you can ask to have some of them served together. As a desert you will find the usual sorbet and mousse with fruits. Good, but nothing too extraordinary in my opinion. When it comes to the prices, you will spend roughly 400-500 SEK/person here including drinks. Not the cheapest eating out, but well worth it. It’s a place to come back to and try the changes on the menu, as well as just to impress your non-vegan friends with a plant-based feast. --- Made in China is an experience you will not regret. Attentive staff, great menu and fantastic food, all in a stylish location. You will spend a lot of money here, but the attention to detail in the food compositions is worth it. The willingness to experiment with vegan ingredients and change the menu makes it also a worthwhile place to revisit. It’s a perfect place to end a festive occasion.

Our number one dish was def the Pork Bun, crazy juicy spicy and tasty with several textures. Next in line was the Crispy shrimp and Kimchi dirty fries. Great sides and def worth a try. We also had the Cucumber salad and shiitake Gyoza on a tied third. Everything was great and honestly we have to come back to try more options on the menu. The Sweet & spicy alc free drink was worth a try although worth to note it’s pretty spicy. Next time I will order the pork bun again for sure.

-Duck was so dry + the wraps were oily/thick as hell. Real shame! -The baos were okay. -Cucumber salad dunked in laoganma + thick sauce on top 👁️👄👁️…less is more my guy. -Edamame was the only good part of this experience, but messing that up is near impossible. -Tuna ‘tartare’ was okay but lacked flavor. Covering every dish with srirachamayo/hoisin sauce doesn’t quite cut it at this price-point.

At here last Thursday with a group of 8 where 6 of us shared dishes. No problem to show up unannounced. Food is not authentic Chinese; some dishes are adjusted. Result is great, so unless you really want the authentic dish you can easily go here. Dumplings broke apart when trying to pick them up. Never had this happen ever before. The restaurant only accepts cards and you can easily pay different amounts per person. Staff was really friendly and patient (we weren't difficult, but also weren't the easiest :-P). Btw, in case you're vegetarian: no issue at all. When they serve you the vegetarian dishes it might appear to contain meat, but that is...

Wow. Way too salty and there’s almost no flavors beyond the huge amount of glutamate or soy sauce or mayo or whatever they use in almost all their dishes. No Asian food here, just a fusion fast food Interpretation of it. A small exception for the gua bao “veggie bun” was not that bad, dumplings : failed and heavy, won ton : couldn’t make a difference between these and the rest.

On a positive note, their cocktails are very nice, which drive me to a conclusion that I won’t express here. Lolz. Not made in China, I can tell that from my food experience here, after we ordered and shared almost...
