Mr Tomato backaplan — Restaurant in Göteborgs Stad

TOMATO is a great lunch resturant that I have visited for more than 7 years now. Sometimes more frequently sometimes a month or 2 pass in between the visits. But each and every lunch has been a joy of good food.

The sallad is tasty! Always pizza bread if you like.

There is a weekly menu that always contain the classic good Pasta Bolognese with garlic and spiced lovely taste. Or the home made Lasagne with creamy good bechamel sauce, black pepper making it a nice choice.

Normally there is 3 dishes that varies from week to week one penne one of risotto or some other pasta dish together with good quality ingredients. All of them are always great choices!

There is also the possibility to go for a good Pizza. Still I normally prefer and choose the normal dishes.

The place is not that large and takes around 50-60 persons and it's almost always well filled. A definitive sign for a great place. The lunch price is 85 Kr and it's worth it clearly.

The only thing I miss is the possibility to take a coffee afterwards. But it's understandable that they need the rotation to get as many lunch guests a possible at those few seats they...

Oh, the wonders of this place! The pizza and pasta are truly delightful. However, the service... well, it's like the receptionist believes she's paying me to eat here! I mean, seriously, she acts in such a peculiar manner. No warm greetings or a simple "How can I assist you?" It's as if she thinks she's the queen of pizza ordering protocol!

Now, I was craving a delicious pizza, but alas, I couldn't bear the thought of souring my mood due to her attitude. Why should I let her rain on my tomato parade? Interestingly enough, I've witnessed her being all friendly and bubbly with others. But for some mysterious reason, I seem to be the odd one out. Is this some kind of tomato-based discrimination? Tasty pizza! Price range is good for what you get. Food comes with a complimentary bread basket and nice pizza salad. I have also tried their fish gratin before which I enjoyed. Not many vegetarian options on the menu but you can always change the filling for your order, I choose a salami pizza but removed the salami and added pineapple instead and the waiter was totally accommodating and friendly.
