A Perfect Graduation Lunch in Lund – Exceptional Food & Service

We recently celebrated a graduation with a larger group at Purgatorio, and it couldn’t have been a more memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and taken care of, handling our large party of 11 (from the USA, Netherlands and Finland) with seamless coordination and warm hospitality. Both the chef and server were so kind.

The lunch menu offered a fantastic variety of seasonal dishes beautifully presented and full of flavor for a fabulous price. Everyone at the table found something they loved—from fresh seafood and perfectly cooked meat to flavorful vegetarian options. I highly recommend the delicious salmon. The ingredients tasted local and fresh, and the attention to detail really showed.

What really stood out, beyond the delicious food, was the relaxed yet celebratory atmosphere.

Service was attentive without being intrusive, and we especially appreciated how accommodating they were with dietary needs and last-minute adjustments.

Nice place, decent cool atmosphere, interesting beer options and the soup of today was really nice and flavorful (kinda wanted to ask for the recipe).

The two things that to me easily could have improved the evening were 1. Put numbers on the tables (you order at the bar and had to have the same talk with the same bartender including pointing, giving directions and description, instead of just saying for eg "table nr 3". And 2. The background music that was more like forefront music. The bass was at a constant high, which is an interesting choice for a place with just seats and tables and as far as I can see - no dance floor. Which means that everyone is there tryin to have a conversation with their company while eating, tryin to be heard over the bass. Just tiresome. I know, feels like such an old person thing to say but lower the volume young...

Coctails should be developed, they were not good. Margarita had literally water swimming inside, they use ready made lime juice which makes the taste more sour than it should be. Pina colada has very dominant lime taste instead of coconut. Mojito glasses were not suitable for mojito. They should work on ice crashing as I suspect that was the reason why margarita had so much water. Nice music, very good environment though. Very good for beers and...
