Bastard Burgers — Restaurant in Malmö kommun

Bastard Burger Kalendgatan is centrally located in Malmö with walking distance to Malmö Central Station and most of the city's attractions. The place has a small outdoor terrace at street level in addition to spacious premises indoors.

The menu consisted of various burgers with side dishes such as fries and dip. There was also a selection of chicken burgers and vegetarian burgers.

The ordering of food took place in the fully automatic way by scanning a QR code, bringing up the menu, choosing the products you wanted to order and paying. When the food was ready to be picked up at the serving counter, you received an SMS. The system was efficient and worked well, but personally I think you lose part of the personal service that is part of a restaurant visit.

We chose to order the Double London menu and the Cheesburger menu respectively. The food was ready within approx. 10 minutes and was served on a serving tray. The presentation was all right, but not particularly outstanding.

The London Burger consisted of two juicy pieces of meat, good with melted cheese, truffle mayonnaise, salad and pickled onions. The meat itself seemed homemade and tasted excellent, which also applied to the truffle mayonnaise and the rest of the side dishes. The fries that were served on the side were perfectly cooked and tasted excellent. The cheeseburger also tasted excellent and seemed to be made with fresh and fresh ingredients.

None of the staff followed up during the meal and we didn't get any looks or nice comments when we left the place. Somewhat more service, serving the food and more presence of the staff would have helped to top the experience. However, the food tasted so good that we would still like to visit...

I never make reviews but this time I seriously need to make this one. Read carefully.

The bastard burgers experience has become just another typical fast-food experience which isn’t at all how it used to be when I ate here during the summer or last winter.

The burger is extremely thin, the bread clearly looks like the one you can buy at any other store, the burger meat itself is very thin and the taste inmemorable. The fries are clearly the ones you can buy at any other market frozen and the sauce; in this case I ordered chipotle came in a plastic packaging where the only thing that’s original is the sticker. It also tastes exactly like any other chipotle sauce you can buy at any market.

I paid 174kr for this meal and it felt like buying a burger meal at Burger King. It wasn’t like this before, something has happened that just made Bastard Burgers one of the worst non-fastfood burger restaurants in Malmö.

If you actually want to eat a good burger I beg you to check out Munchies which isn’t far from where Bastard Burgers is. It’s cheaper and much, much better.

I’m so disappointed,...

offering a variety of city-named "deluxe" burgers with interesting toppings which i was really excited about, but honestly i was underwhelmed by the taste, especially given the price. the beef patty was small and not very flavorful, the dressings lacked depth, and the toppings were quite lacking in portion.

my friend and i shared the london burger and the los angeles burger. the burgers are quite small and also lacked flavor for me.

// los angeles burger: caramelized onions, jalapeños, bacon, double cheese, tomato, lettuce and sweet and hot jalapeño dressing // i was excited for this one but the flavors fell short. to be honest i couldn't taste much of the sweet and hot dressing. my half also had a very small amount of onions and bacon (like 1 slice).

// london burger: bistro burger with truffle mayo, double cheese, pickled red onion and salad // the pickled red onion was a nice addition but it lacked flavor for me. i couldn't taste much truffle from the sauce.

given the price, i would not come back again personally. they do have a good lunch...
