Very atmospheric place with a wide selection of beers. It is quite gloomy inside but you can also sit outside. The staff is very nice and the beer cold, fresh and tasty.
The restroo. well equipped and super clean though entering them felt like a time travel to the 19th century UK. For those who care: Paper towels and soft toilet paper!
The prices are around 7-8€ per half liter of beer. The food is in the same league but I haven't tried it. What was carried past me looked and smelled very delicious though.
When I asked for some advice on Swedish beer I was allowed to try a few.
The biggest cons are the super dangerous stairs and the entrance and down to the toilets. The place is not only absolutely disabled unfriendly but also dangerous for undisbled: when you come in from the outside you can't see the stairs because they are covered in dark carpet, not marked in any way. The entrance is a weird mixture of stairs and a ramp. Both death traps in case you happen to have a few pints too many.
The urinals on the gentlemen's constantly trigger because the motion detector is badly installed. This doesn't only cut off pressure from the tab where you wash your hands but is a huge waste of water.
I sat outside for several hours before I saw staff, picking up glasses and plates and clean the tables. I switched to a different table, because mine was sticky. The place was very empty that day, so they weren't too busy.
There is not much pedestrian traffic outside. Depending on your taste that may be good or bad. The outside seats are far too low. So in case you have trouble with your knees, it's not for you.
I have mixed feelings. High standards in staff, atmosphere and overall interior. Yet these dangerous stairs, sticky tables and piles of dishes. I can only guess how it is on busy days. Still the prices should allow perfect service any time, yet they were ver nice indeed. If not for that and the little beer tasting I'd...
Read moreFirst visit in 10+ years, and not much has changed. And that's a good thing. Very nice "British"-style pub, though it's a little bit fake with the WW2 model planes in the ceiling for example (French, American, German fighters and a tiny British Spitfire) and stereotypical wall decorations straight out of some random English TV-series. But it's fine (nice!) and I wouldn't change anything. Good selection of quality beer., friendly attentive staff. Crowded on this Friday afternoon, but it's a nice, mixed crowd and the noise level is acceptable. Will definitely come back soon and try...
Read moreBeen here a couple times before and it’s always a welcoming and warm pub. It’s unpretentious and relaxing with a plethora of beer selection on tap. I ordered their prime burger and it was excellent, the best burger I’ve had in a long time. The sauces served with it was very tasty, I don’t have a single negative comment about the dish served.
I think however they need some more staff as it took about 40 mins to be served, I don’t blame the staff though as they worked very hard to please the customers. One behind the counter and I think one in...
