Kol & Cocktails thinks it is ok to serve cold meat, they not responding to me regarding this matter, even after 3 mails.
First the quality of the meat (in the end), desert, service, atmosphere in the restaurant was 5 out 5 no doubt! Really tasty quality meat, and a superb desert! The atmosphere was really nice and the waiter was also really nice and helping.
The only thing we did not like, was 2 of the meat plates where COLD, 1 sirlion and one wagyu! We where surprised about about this, eventhough the rest of the meat plates where as they should.
We where asked if we all wanted to eat at the same time, which we said yes to, and we think that some of the meat was finished before the others, but i still think they should had checked and found out prior to service, that half of the plates had cold meat, especially bad when you order wagyu.
We made the waiter aware of this, he apologized and we got the meat back as it should had been from the start, warm and tasty.
And the desert was small, but OMG it was tasty! And one more negative thing, 2 of the 3 light on our table was out, so it was a bit dark, again the waiter was super helpfull and we got another table light, but again this should not happen at this kind of restaurant.
So all in all, it was a bit unfortunate with the cold meat, and the missing lights, so for that reason we cannot give the food and overall experience a 5 star review.
It would had been a kind gesture, and acceptance of things not being to standard, to either get offered some free drinks or deserts based on the cold meat served, but we where not offered any compensation and we did not ask, it should had been them offering this and not us asking.
Again it would had been a nice way for them to accept their mistake, and a respectfull way to honor their guest for their unfortunate mistake.
One things we did expect was tastefull meat and desert, a great experience and that we got, but we did not expect to get some of the meat served cold, and without any acceptance/kind compensation - it put a "small dent" in a wonderfull experience we had.
We where encouraged by mail to give a review, which we did, but no one from KOL had contacted us after they received the above review, a lack of response can easily be interpreted as an acceptance of the situation as it was — including the parts that were clearly below...

KOL is an upscale restaurant in several areas whilst not being exclusively a fine dining restaurant, which I really enjoy.
They have a refined menu with various starters, mains and desserts with matching options for drinks. Prices will also vary but is upscale as mentioned.
Interior and setting is rather cozy and inviting with darker colors, table-side candles, warm lights and some lounge house music in the background.
🦐 THE FOOD 🍖 You can choose courses with various proteins and the beef courses ranges from entrecôte, dry-aged beef to Japanese Wagyu beef with things in-between like a T-Bone steak.
You can pick your sides from the menu and there are a variety of potato sides other than fries. Same goes with the sauces.
If you feel like it you can instead order the chefs recommendation.
Overall the food is great, packed with refined and balanced flavors. You will not leave hungry.
🍷 WINE & DRINKS 🍹 The wine selection is decent and there were no problem matching your wine with the food. You will find both origin and pricing to vary according to your taste.
The cocktails are also well made with lots of flavors. The selection allows you to experience new exciting combinations or you can go with your trusted favorites.
No worry about having a good beer or a glass of bubbles either.
🛎 THE SERVICE 🛎 Serving staff is very welcoming, friendly and familiar, while still being professional. You are being sought after.
They can recommend courses and match a wine for you, which you get to properly taste before agreeing on having it.
Waiting time was as expected and everything from starter to dessert and drinks was a very...
Read moreThis was a great place to eat in the middle of Malmo. We had a 3-course meal for a large party, so my options were limited. I had the carpaccio for appetizer (Excellent), the ribeye and fries for entree (Very Good) and chocolate ice cream for dessert (Good). The only things I would dock them on are 1) the server was friendly, but did not come back very often for drink refills. We had a large party (10+) and I was the only one not drinking beer or wine, so it was probably easy to overlook me, but I definitely got less attention than others at the table and 2) the chocolate ice cream had very little actual ice cream in it; it was mostly a foam accompaniment. It’s probably just the American in me, but when I order a bowl of chocolate ice cream, I’d expect it to be at least 50% ice cream; this was more like 30%. It was also not very “chocolatey”. To be fair, American expectations for things like ice cream are not the same as those in Europe, but I feel like the restaurant was trying to go for a little bit more of an American style than other places I ate in Sweden, so I expected the flavors to be a little more American. I would definitely go again, I’d just like to try some...
