I’ve walked past Osaka many times, but today was my first time dining there. With a stellar 4.8/5 rating on Google, I had very high expectations.
🌟 What I liked: The first big plus was the entire team – from the servers to the cleaning staff, everyone was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. The restaurant is small, but nicely arranged with everything in the right place and ready to go.
😕 What disappointed me: Unfortunately, when it came to the food and water, I was quite disappointed.
There was a large bottle of tap water placed on the table. When we poured and drank from it, we immediately noticed a strong smell of hand soap – and all members of my family picked up on it. We asked the staff if we could change the bottle, and the server kindly brought us a new one.
However, the problem wasn’t the water itself – it was clearly the bottle, which must not have been rinsed properly. Later, when we moved to another table indoors (since it was cold outside), we drank water from a smaller bottle, and there was no strange smell at all. So, the issue came from that specific large bottle not being cleaned well.
As for the food, we ordered: Beef & pork bibimbap Pork poké bowl Sashimi poké bowl. The food arrived quickly (about 10–15 minutes), but we were quite shocked to find kebab meat in our dishes. There was no mention of kebab meat or kebab-style seasoning on the menu.
I understand dishes can be adapted to suit local tastes – and that's totally fine – but if so, it should be clearly stated on the menu. For someone who enjoys kebab, these bowls might be perfect. But for us, it was extremely off-putting. I couldn’t finish my dish, and my children only ate a small portion. We ended up packing the food to take home and left to make space for other guests, as the restaurant was very busy.
At home, I tasted my kids’ poké bowl (with sashimi) again to be fair in my review. That bowl seemed closer to a traditional poké bowl, without any kebab meat or flavors.
🔍 Summary: Staff: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) – Warm, attentive, and helpful. Food quality: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5) – Please clearly state on the menu if pork dishes use kebab meat. This is especially important because the restaurant serves Japanese and Korean cuisine, and kebab meat is not a part of traditional dishes from either culture. Knowing this in advance helps customers make informed choices and avoid unpleasant surprises. Hygiene: ⭐️ (2/5) – The large water bottle had a strong soapy smell, likely due to...
Read moreI recently dined at Poké Ramen, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish! As soon as we entered, we were greeted with warm smiles and a cozy, authentic atmosphere that made us feel right at home.
The menu offers a delightful mix of traditional Korean dishes and creative fusion options. We tried the poke bowls, bibimbap, and rice with satay sauce, and each dish was a culinary masterpiece. The poke bowls were fresh and vibrant, with perfectly seasoned fish and a delightful mix of toppings. The bibimbap was a standout, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The rice with satay sauce was a pleasant surprise, combining the rich, creamy satay with fluffy rice for a satisfying dish.
What truly sets Poké Ramen apart is the attention to detail and the quality of the ingredients. Every bite was a testament to the care and passion that goes into each dish. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, providing excellent service and helpful recommendations.
In addition to the fantastic food, the restaurant's ambiance was inviting and comfortable, making it an ideal spot for both casual meals and special occasions. I can’t wait to return and try more from their diverse menu. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a unique blend of authentic Korean cuisine and...
Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE.Definitely not Japanese food. Do not be fooled by good reviews and photos. It seems outdated .
Not sure if the owners switched but the menu also seemed change to what is advertised outside and now basically everything is a poke bowl?
We ordered bibimbap with chicken And Japanese!!!! Curry with tofu.
The bowls were basically the same, but one had curry and one very over fried egg that also definitely not fried fresh.
Everything was DRENCHED in mayo!
The curry clearly is not home made and from a mix and just added to the typical poke bowl.
In addition it seems that the servers touch everything with the glows , even receipts totally negating the use of it. We took 3 bites and left.
I think if we would have finished we would get food poisoning. Even for a bowl place one of the worst bowls EVER.
The greeting was friendly, but besides that there was no service.
There was a very dirty bottle of water with tap water on the table for free.
The chicken was extremely dry. I guess that’s why they French everything in mayo.
The tofu was okay, but none of the vegetables tasted fresh.
For this bowls we had to wait...
