Hello Sanlo! I had been checking out this place for a long time and was very happy to finally make it there on a time you were open. I was not so impressed though, wrt the food. Everything I ordered almost tasted the same or not much flavor at all and more or less looked the same too. (Perhaps this is Taiwanese style? I do not know? Please help me understand! )
I would have preferred that the dishes are plated in a different way so they look more unique, also that they would have more distinct flavors so you can easily tell them apart from each other. This would be more appealing while eating. Chicken was dry and not much flavor. Was suppose to be Szechuan pepper but it seems they perhaps forgot some of the pepper? Cucumber salad had no taste of sesame oil at all, just felt like vinegar and soy sauce. This is an easy dish that you make way better at home just by googling the recipe! And I’m not even Asian!!! Glass noodle salad with tofu had no other flavor than lemon flavor, which was not so tasty to me.
There was hardly any ppl in the restaurant but I still had to wait a considerable amount of time for my lunch. My personal opinion is lunch should be very quick access compared to when ordning dinner in evening time. Then it is ok to wait a bit more but during the day you need to rush back to work!
I liked the interior, a little bit too sterile for my personal taste, but still very nice and clean. Many details are thought through from happy orange chop sticks to nice shelves, mirror and flowers. I understand every style is personal of course and this is only my personal preference.
Chairs + tables have a metal look and this is different to other places in Malmö. I liked the wall lamp vey much and the green coat hanger was cool.
Waitress was friendly and gave normal service but not super attentive. Also other person from kitchen that came out and chatted seemed friendly and pleasant.
While dining we noticed the staff denying four different size companies to dine since the kitchen had closed (just a few minutes ago). Perhaps extend the lunch hours since many people are interested in your place? 💓
I have seen many reviews of your restaurant that the food was better in the beginning. What has happened since then? I will come back to give another chance in evening time when you have a different menu and see if my experience was a one time only...
Read moreCame here for lunch on a Tuesday. Arrived a bit early and got a seat with no issues. It gets quite packed though later on!
Ordered their new special Lu Rou Fan (卤肉饭) and Popcorn Chicken. As someone who grew up eating both dishes, here is my honest take:
Popcorn Chicken 5/5: -Well-breaded and juicy, delicious by itself. -Good sriracha mayo (?) dip to compliment. -Just a bit overpriced, but did get a large portion.
Lu Rou Fan 卤肉饭 3/5: -At first bite by itself, the meat definitely hit the right spot taste-wise and umami, could need a bit more salt though. -After a few bites together with the rice, it's noticeable that the dish as a whole is a bit dry. The meat pieces in my dish were mostly of the drier part of the meat, not much fatty. When eaten together with the rice, it left a dry feeling in my mouth. -Tips to utilize more fatty meat 五花肉 for more flavour and juiciness in the dish. Maybe I just got some dry parts. -Definitely add a soft-boiled/hard-boiled egg to the dish, as I felt that was lacking. Google any pictures of this dish, and you will see that egg is an essential part of the dish to balance it out. -Way too much coriander and green onion was added on top. It felt like that large amount was added simply to balance out the visual elements with some green. You can use other healthy veggies to do that instead. Like where is the pak choi? -Lastly, the portion size with meat was a bit small. A bit more meat would have been appreciated!
Overall, there can be improvements made. But happy with the food. Will come back and try again during another lunch special or dinner time. Looking...
Read moreMe and my friends were excited to try this newly opened restaurant, even if our friends had told us not to go, and our friends were right. The portion size you get, when compared to the price does not match, in my opinion it is very overpriced.
I ordered noodles with popcorn chicken for around 165 (if I remember correctly), and I only got 4-5 pieces of chicken?! We also ordered the cucumber salad for around 60, which only had around 11 small pieces of cucumber (yes we counted, because we were shocked by the small portion).
The noodles in both dishes we ordered didn’t taste homemade but store bought, kinda like noodles from instant noodles packs.
The flavour was okay in the dishes but nothing special nor unique, especially when you take into consideration the price point.
The service was good, the staff was friendly, but we waited a long time for our food. One weird thing was also that our drinks was delivered to us opened?...
