Brickyard — Restaurant in Stockholm

I went here last night on Valentine's Day with my fiancée and the initial feeling/vibe was good. We both had drinks, appetizers, and a main dish.

For the appetizers we got the Korean BBQ and Hot Garlic Prawns. The prawns were pretty decent though it only came with 4 very small pieces of prawns, the rest of that dish was comprised about 1 or 2 whole heads of garlic in a lot of oil and some bread on the side. The KBBQ could have been better imo. It wasn't bad, but it was definitely lacking in taste.

For the main course, I requested the Rib Eye (cooked medium) and with a side of onion rings instead of fries, whereas my fiancée got the burger. The presentation was nice, though it's a bit odd, imo, to garnish with fresh oregano for a steak, but I'll be nice and say that I'm picky for that one thing. Although the dish came with a decent amount of onion rings, the seemed a bit lacking compared to other restaurants, which was unfortunate since I LOVE onion rings. As mentioned, I requested it cooked medium, but this was def rare, if not closer to blue rare, since it should be pink rather than bloody red. Normally, I'd send it back, but since it was Valentine's Day, I swallowed my pride and kept my mouth shut so I wouldn't ruin the vibe...Interestingly enough, my fiancée felt similar about her burger, in that it was "lame" for a lack of better words, and unlike me, she usually doesn't complain about food; she told me this morning, rather than last night for the same reason as me. Her fries, to me at least, seemed like they could have been frozen too, mainly because of the look and the lack of flavor.

Needless to say, we were both very disappointed especially based on the high reviews, though I should have known better since after being in this country for nearly 5 years, reviews mean nothing in this country since the average person here would literally give bland food 5 stars and would gladly drop 1000 SEK for it.

The main reason why I'm giving this place 2/5 and not 1/5 is because the service was actually good, something extremely rare and unheard of in Sweden. That being said, we still won't be...

The food looked good, my mother's meal looked really tasty and smelled delicious. (She ordered the steak)

I ordered the Taco's I hot three small tacos with a slice of meat some peppers slices and a pico de gallo in them.

I also got with it two small containers one with sour cream and one with chunky avocado/quacamole.

The the bread was very small, the meat was tasty, the pico de gallo decent, the quacamole was not really properly spiced and sour cream is sour cream(Love it).

In the end it was a good meal but under performing. Wouldn't order the Tacos again too be honest.

Biggest problem I had was the wait after food(40 min after having finished eating) and the the also long wait after we asked for the cheque(We had to ask...

The food was pretty good, a few steps from being great, but the service and atmosphere is what really made it. We sat outside in the sun and inside in the cosy bar. All staff were wonderfully attentive and friendly. I wish I managed to get everyone's names, the people behind the bar and those who picked up our tab outside were all superb. Nataly was memorable and a showstopper of a server with her jokes and personality....
