I can't believe the racism! I wanted my foreign friend to experience Urban Deli because I love the concept. However, the staff started yelling at me (they ignored my friend) for sitting down at an empty table because it still had some dishes left on it. I told the waitress that the ones who had sat there just left and told us we could have the table but she started shouting at me as if I was a 5-year old in front of all other customers: "no sitting at a table with dishes-NO!" My foreign friend didn't understand what she was saying but got uncomfortable because she was being so rude and none of us understood what we had done wrong... Later I understood that she was a racist and didn't want my Turkish friend to sit in that "trendy" place, because there was no reason for her to chase us from the table or be so unbelievably rude and worst of all- she addressed only me. She took no notice to my Turkish friend- she spoke to me as if he wasn't there. I couldn't believe the horrible racism that resides in the staff of Urban Deli. I was so embarrassed to have to admit that we got treated so badly in there because the staff don't like muslims. It's crazy... I lost the taste for my favorite place. I just cannot go back...

The bartender took my half-full beer as soon as I got up to use the restroom (I was alone at the bar waiting for a friend) and when I returned and explained that I was still drinking it, he did not give me a free new drink or a refund - he actually didn’t even offer to give me another drink, period, even if I had wanted to pay for it! They are truly the worst place in town and deserve to lose their trendy reputation!

Almost nothing bothers me more than how much Stockholmers LOVE Urban Deli - and they do, I promise. But the food is absolutely awful and the wait for a table is ridiculous. That said, the bar has a nice vibe with friendly servers, and the grocery section is a rare gem for Stockholm. That’s the only reason for stars two and three!!...

Not if you visit the Urban Deli. The best way to describe this place is that it’s a grocery store with a bar in the back. My friend’s wife asked him to buy some bread and that’s exactly where we went.
The bar has some very knowledgeable bartenders who are kind and courteous. The crowd was chill and were all having a good time. We were not there for long, but the music they were playing was pretty amazing too!
I got myself a “100 watt” IPA which was quite exquisite. Apparently a local brewery called “New Carniege” (sp?) has some sort of a collaboration with Brooklyn brewery to produce this fine IPA. I also had some Mackmyra which is a fine Swedish single malt.
I will be going back to this fine...
