ilcaffè — Restaurant in Stockholm

I would prefer zero stars but google insists I choose at least one or it won't allow me to post this. I was treated with contempt at Ilcaffe in Sodermalm. I ordered and paid for food that never came. When, after 45 minutes I asked where it was, the waitperson, rather than apologising for the wait and asking her colleague what I had ordered, or checking the cash register receipts, preferred to humiliate me publicly accusing me of being a liar and of trying to cheat the cafe. When I went and found the person who had taken my order she confirmed that I had ordered and paid for the food. When proved wrong, the first wait person offered me neither a refund or an apology, both had to be demanded of her and were begrudgingly given. So, go to Ilcaffe if you want to pay for food you wait ages for and never receive, get accused of lying about it in public by an incredibly rude waitperson and then receive neither a refund or an apology without having to ask for it. This was by far the worst treatment I have ever received in a cafe any where...

The atmosphere is attractive and laid back which is perfect for a relaxed fika or working space, the coffee is not bad not good, just meh, neither the cappuccino or the latte had any barista skill, no latte art and the milk was overly foamed in both which just shows the lack of training of the staff in coffee making, we ordered a kanelbulle and instead got a kardemummaknut which we didn’t mind but it was not fresh at all, but the food is lazily made and completely overpriced, we waited almost half an hour for two toasts which cost 125kr each, and for that price you expect a good snack but you instead get a old hard bread with ingredients lacking cohesion, we got a tuna toast which was just ok (could have cost half the price) and an avocado toast that we couldn’t finish since the avocado was too acid, the toast bread… well was hard and...

👍POSITIVE Perfect to work! Full of nice corners to sit with your laptop or to study! There's a bakery inside and also a flower shop. The prices are expensive, but I guess that's the price to pay to spend a long time there too.

There are some tables outside that are perfect on the sunny seasons.

👎COULD IMPROVE One downside is that there's barely no vegan options to eat. They have vegan options for drinks Oat/soy latte, of course, but then for food, the only option is...
