It’s unfortunately sad to give this review when I had such high expectations (plus it was my birthday). The staff is nice and polite and, of course, that’s a great advantage but let’s start by the beginning. I arrived and they seemed a bit confused about the reservation. First I had to wait and then they took me to a table that, 5 minutes later, told me was already given to someone else. I understand problems can happen (and I think I arrived 3/4 minutes after 19:45 but I made the reservation a month in advance…) Then I was told I could choose from the available tables for 2 people and I did but I didn’t realise it was super close to the counter where the staff gathers and very uncomfortable, so I had to change again (for this Im sorry for the inconvenience I gave to the staff but it’s also on them for having a table so close to the counter where they work… why would you do that??) again, I understand problems can happen and the restaurant was very full, but it was a birthday and a reservation made a lot in advance… About the food, it was ok but nothing special and the prices are way too high. They were quick to serve us and I felt they wanted to rush us out (even if, again, it was my birthday). The staff seemed really stressed and I know they understood I wasn’t happy and tried to make things better offering dessert, coffee and chocolate but… I still think the room is severely under-dimensioned and that they have too many tables. It feels a bit greedy of them: do you want the customers to sit and feel bad next to the counter where the staff is always moving, always running with dishes and so on? I just don’t think that’s correct, especially for the price and image of the restaurant and it was a disappointment for my birthday
PS: we called the restaurant and the waiter was really nice and explained to us everything so I should really write...
Read moreSometimes you stumble upon a place that doesn’t just serve food, but also serves up a whole experience. That’s exactly what happened to us at Dalanisse – a cozy, family-owned restaurant where hospitality feels as warm as the kitchen.
Our evening was made unforgettable thanks to Natasa, our wonderful waitress, who turned good service into an art form. Friendly, attentive, and with just the right sense of humor, she made us feel right at home.
We were a group of four adults. Three of us went for the timeless Swedish classic, the plankstek. Let’s be honest: some dishes fade with time, but this one? Not a chance. At Dalanisse, the plank is elevated to perfection, juicy steak, buttery duchess potatoes, and fresh, colorful garnishes that were as pleasing to the eye as to the taste buds. The fourth member of our group opted for the schnitzel, which turned out to be every bit as satisfying and beautifully presented. Portions were generous, and nobody left the table hungry (though we all left very happy).
And then came dessert. Homemade pistachio ice cream with Sicilian pistachios – an absolute sensation. Creamy, nutty, and a sweet finale that deserves its own round of applause.
To top it off, the cocktail menu reads like a greatest hits of classics: Whiskey Sour, Cosmopolitan, and more. The kind of list that makes you wish you had more evenings to spend here, just to work your way through it.
In short: Dalanisse is a gem where tradition meets care, and where a night out becomes a memory. If you’re anywhere nearby, do yourself a favor and go. Just make sure Natasa is on shift – she’ll make your...
Read moreI've been here twice, and both times the food and service has been outstanding. The restaurant itself is quite small, but cozy and intimate. They serve Swedish dishes, both traditional ones and modern ones with a twist, and the menu has a great deal of variety. Considering what you get, the prices are very fair. The waiters are attentive and friendly, and the food is delicious. We were here for a dinner on a Saturday night and my boyfriend and I both ordered the veal pasta. They accidentally brought out the vegetarian pasta for both of us, which we said was fine, but they insisted on bringing out some veal on the side for us and at the end of the evening only charged us for the vegetarian pasta and also offered us our sodas on the house. The pasta itself was delicious—flavorful and creamy, with well-balanced tastes. Our waiter was also very attentive regarding my food allergy, which I really appreciated. All of us loved the food and all the dishes were very nicely presented and well prepared. We were very happy with our experience here, and our visitors really liked getting to try such high-quality Swedish cuisine. I highly recommend DalaNisse to anyone looking for a nice experience and great food...
