My father and I wanted a nice dinner on a Thursday evening. We came in at 18:25 on 10/11/2022. We order a few minutes later. I wanted Karage, basically fried chicken. Apparently they don’t serve it during evenings which was odd since they served Karage Serada which was shredded Karage. I don’t get why they couldn’t just not shred some Karage, but I digress. I ordered Yakitori, which is five chicken skewers with a glaze, I got it without the glaze due to a food allergy. My father ordered the Chef’s Choice which was ten sushi pieces. The first issue was with how long it took to get the food. We ordered at roughly 18:30 and we got my skewers and five out of the ten pieces of my father’s sushi at 19:05 which I think is fine. Then my father had to remind the waiter that he was supposed to get more food at the same time I ordered a cheesecake. At 19:20 my father got three more pieces and at 19:22 I got my cheesecake. Then we had to yet again remind the server that my father had two more pieces which arrived at 19:34. We finished our food and asked to pay. We were there almost one hour and ten minutes on the dot. My skewers were tasty, good quality and quite well portioned. I was asked if I wanted rice which I said yes to. My father liked his sushi, though it was a slightly small portion at 10 pieces, we knew that from the start and tried to order a twelve piece version, but apparently that wasn’t possible. My cheesecake was great, nothing remarkable, but tasty none the less. My father getting half of his and then another three pieces fifteen minutes later wasn’t a big deal, but him having to wait another fifteen for the last two pieces was absurd. I want to remind you that it took thirty minutes after my food, and the first five pieces of his food, to actually get the whole meal. The waiter took my fathers chopsticks after half of the meal which was yet another annoyance. Luckily I had a pair by me. The sound levels in the restaurant was quite cacophonous throughout our meal from 18:25, it sharply ramped up at 19:00. I don’t exactly know the ins and outs of how a restaurant should handle sound issues, but since they recently remodelled I would hope that it was a bit less loud. Some music was pumping in the background which wasn’t a problem, but it felt kind of superfluous. The remodel was admittedly pretty. It gave me ghost in the shell vibes. The service was fine. I don’t know if the waitstaff was grossly understaffed or if there was another cause for their slowness at waiting tables. We had to keep reminding them to get my father his food. They also kept checking in on the kitchen staff, seemingly, though I am no expert, to make sure that orders were getting through. I requested to and was able to pay at 19:40. The full meal was 690 SEK (64 EUR, 65 USD) we tipped roughly 15% which was 100 SEK (9 EUR, 9 USD). Do note that tipping culture in Sweden is not mandatory or necessarily expected like other countries. The Chef’s Choice, ten piece sushi, was 340 SEK (31 EUR, 32 USD) The Yakitori, chicken skewers with rice, was 265 SEK (24 EUR, 25 USD) The Cheesecake was 105 SEK (10 EUR, 10 USD) All numbers rounded to nearest full number.

The food left me not much impression except the beef entrecôte skewers and the side dish green beans. For this price range I expected more impressive dishes. The entrecôte skewer was juicy and tender, and the green beans were flavorful with ginger. The Yakitori chicken skewer tasted like something you could find in the frozen zone of the supermarket. The maki, crispy rice with tartar and salmon croquettes were nothing special. This was the first time I tried nigiri with parmigiano, personally I felt the flavors of the cheese were overpowering the beef and sushi rice. The cocktail was better than I expected, the pairing of whiskey and sweet sesame cracker enhanced the layers of the flavors. The environment light was way too red, and the music was too loud, we unfortunately couldn’t stay long.

Really nice place with great food and service. Pre-dinner drink with Japanese gin and ginger was superb, the grilled scallops (Hokkaido) had a fantastic smokey flavor, the 4 mixed skewers was really (Niku) great I had Ikansaisai (squid sallad) as side and worked great. The Trio meny dessert was not so good, raw sesame seeds on a bit of truffle...to much of a snack bar feeling...The Hitachino Nest beers are delicious and a must try. Recommend this place.

31 Jan 24 If you’re getting a take-out order, check that it is in accordance with the menu. We’ve just had a fourth (yes, 4th) short order of sushi. Having complained straight away in each case the response has ranged from helpful to indifferent. The last event was to be redressed by a complete replacement of the short order but having walked the ten minutes back to collect, “the cook” said no and something less was offered. All we wanted was to have what was ordered from the outset, not a bungled attempt at customer “satisfaction”. Goes back to poor staff training and a variable company policy it seems. Like so many restaurants, the food is fairly good so withdrawing custom is a two-edged choice ☹️

05 Jun 2023…Miso soup used to accompany a take-away order of sushi, in fact it has done so for the last 12+ years we’ve used Raw. Today I was asked for 20 SEK per serving for miso soup. No thanks - not today and unlikely for the future either!

We’ve been using RAW for many years and through COVID have availed of their phone and collect service. The food is always good. The service is indifferent - mostly the staff are interested in each other, their dining guests, or the many professional food couriers who wait for orders than we mere mortals who collect our own. Our experience is that about 3 out of 4 orders will have something missing (14 piece sushi dish with 12 pieces, avocado and salmon dish with no avocado servings, no wasabi, no miso soup …….). School report: Must try,...
