ESA — Restaurant in Stockholm

I usually love ESA sushi and I love their food, but today the service was horrible.

1. A girl asked for more miso-soup and didn't get a reply from the staff, on intention
2. Me and my friend had ordered separately but got the order in the same bag. When we asked for another bag (because we were not having the food together), the staff were unfriendly and simply gave us another bag with no response or apologies
3. I had some miso soup and the staff told me to throw out the take away bowl. I saw a trash bin behind the cashier and asked if I could throw it there, whereupon they answered "no" rudely.

All these things ^ seem very trivial, of course, but taken together I was just really shocked at the bad customer service. The staff didn't take into consideration me as a customer at all and seemed to be very unbothered in general.

To the management: please, tell your staff to be more friendly to customers. I love your food and have loved coming to ESA for years as I live really close, but this behaviour was just unacceptable. Especially after I tried to reason with the cashier with...

Poor service, unfriendly staff, Rude replies during the order😕 They were treating customers as if they were giving free food! We pay for it and we deserve a good service! Period. If the management is not taking care of this then this place will lose its fame some day! Other than that, the food was really good 👍🏽 place was really small so better take away.. ambient music was in one room and not in the other..Miso soup was average.

Beautiful and tasty sushi. If you don't like condiments on top of your sushi, make sure to tell them beforehand.

What brings the stars down is that the staff seemed nonchalant. There were twice as many staff as there were customers and my order of salmon and avocado took 20 minutes. Those who ordered well after me got their food before I did. It wasn't even lunch time, it was late afternoon. Did they forget about me? :(

The locale is stressfully bright orange and hot, the spotlights heat up this basement that should be cool on a hot summers day. Half of the stack of "clean" soy bowls on the table were dirty. They have a tiny WC with half-broken everything.

The sushi is worth the visit but don't expect the place to be any kind of cosy. There are other good places, in the same price...
