Update after 2 years: I've eaten many times here over the course of 2 years and I feel the quality has gone slightly down. They don't have the cheese fries anymore which I think were one of the main reasons I loved coming here. Also, their patties have lost their flavor and they're a bit dryer now. The milkshakes are still amazing, and the burgers are still good but they've gone from mind-blowing to just good. It remains one of my favorite restaurants in Stockholm, but I wish they could bring back that awesome taste I fell in love with 2 years ago.
They're incredibly kid friendly. You can park maybe 2-3 strollers inside, or you can put it under the table if it fits and they have baby chairs. The waiters are super friendly with kids and babies.
I ordered a gluten free burger and I can honestly say that for the first time in my life I haven't regretted it. The bun had a soft cake consistency, as with most gluten free buns, but it worked really well with the burger. It was a bit darker than a normal bun and also a bit sweeter.
One of the best burgers I've ever eaten. Definitely the best burger patty I've ever eaten. The meat is juicy with an amazing taste, and the patty is so tender that it crumbles just by looking at it. The burgers are not sophisticated, just good meat with optional cheddar, and a couple light ingredients for some of the recipes. The cheese fries use the same kind of cheddar as in the cheeseburgers and they are insanely delicious.
The place is not that big and is very crowded in the late hours. Prepare to wait an entire hour for a table if you arrive around 7pm. At 4-5pm the waiting time is around 15 mins. You can start a tab while you wait and order drinks at the bar.
The lady at the bar was very nice and explained the different ginger beers they had (I recommend the non-alcoholic one). They also have milkshakes with a selection of Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Needless to say, they're the bomb.
Prices are on the expensive side. A meal for two with burgers, cheese fries, milkshakes and ginger beer will cost you...
Read moreFlippin' Burgers in Stockholm near Odenplan rightly have a reputation for doing delicious burgers. I would go again anytime to have a flippin' great single-patty cheese burger with flippin' tasty fries. If I just would not have to queue...
What do you do when you are in Stockholm? Queueing for a burger, obviously. I kind of stopped queueing for burgers in London. By now, there are simply enough good options, so mostly there is no need to wait, just walk a few minutes instead. But when I went back to Stockholm last year, I finally wanted to find out how good Flippin' Burgers really is.
The location is very convenient near Odenplan. I asked about how long I would have to wait, and at first I was told that it could be 45 minutes. I still stayed around, and and then got a place at the bar after just about 20 minutes. Luckily, I could at least wait inside for most of the time.
Flippin' Burgers has a very short menu. You do not have much choice at all. I went for the simple cheese burger. It was excellent, it came without unneccesary additions - after all, I ordered a burger, not a salad, right?
The brioche bun was nice and soft, coping very well with the single patty in my cheese burger. The burger actually was surprisingly easy to eat, it's always a positive surprise to have a lovely burger that is not messy to eat. I decided to add fries and a Fentimans Cherrytree Cola. While I, of course, wanted to practise my patchy Swedish, all staff were really friendly and spoke perfect English.
The fries were crunchy and as delicious as fries can be.
Overall, I think Flippin' Burgers do very tasty burgers that could compete with most of the top burgers I had in London in the past five years. So, while I was not too happy about the wait, my dinner was satisfying and I can only recommend Flippin' Burgers to anyone who likes a decent burger.
I would be surprised if they would not branch out soon and open other shops after they seem to be very successful with their...
Read moreApproaching the restaurant you start by smelling the wonderful smells of the meats cooking inside and you hear the buzzing from the packet restaurant filled with pleased guests enjoying their meal. The place has a very friendly approach and despite it being very busy and cramped cause of all the guests it had a feeling of familiarity. Just like the local diner place down the street would have. Everyone thats there are having a good time it felt like. Once you get seated you are handed a nice menu with selection of different burgers and drinks, which all to me atleast sounded delicious and there will guarantee be something for everyone. However since it was so crowded at the time of my visit the burger took about 30 minutes to actually arrive at our table which is still fine for me but I would have liked it a lot more if my drink didn’t arrive 30 minutes before the actual meal was ready, since I ordered a vanilla ice cream coke float it melted before the burger could be eaten. The burger itself was near perfect in terms of balance between the meat itself and the different condiments such as the smoky bacon and the salty pickles. The only downside which is still a very minor thing was the bread which seemed to have been toasted but sadly lacked the crusty toasted layer one would want, perhaps a few more seconds would have made the bread perfect. The taste of the meal as a whole was superb however and exactly what one would want from a burger place like this one. The only real downside was that straws were made out of plastic which in this day and age is really not showing a good showing of them being up to speed on the plastic issue as some other burger places in Sweden are. Even the big chains have started using non plastic straws in the last months so I hope this will be fixed in the coming months. But food wise great place for a simple yet tasty...
