My first one-star hotel review! Exciting!

Unique hotel. It's a beautiful house torn to shreds through neglect. The hotel that could kill you and have everything you own taken from you.

Can't be that bad, right? True. We did have a roof over our heads, and the bed was comfortable. But it ends there.

We arrived at our room, and a strong wall of cheap cancerous perfume hit us, and the toilet had pee all over it. The rest of the place looked like it was cleaned, so we guess that the guy cleaning had to go and didn't bother where or how. Now for why you should never have kids in these rooms. In a corner in our room, we found exposed live electric wires. We also had to report that our bedside lamps weren't working, while one of them didn't even have a socket, the other didn't work. After a bulb exchange, they said the outlet was broken. A very shady electrician had been here to make that statement. He fetched an extension cord and used another outlet. I feel like this should be reported to the authority as it's a fire hazard.

Ok so now we got lights. And what is this? Another plastic card? We found another key-card in our room and found out that it's not just any card. It's a master key. I tried it on other rooms. It worked. So yeh if we wanted to, we could have gone and stolen everything.

The reception closes after 6 pm and the outer doors too. You need a pin code for the door to get into the hotel. But the door wasn't locked, just the reception. So anyone could enter at any time — no need for a pin code.

So this hotel isn't safe for you or your possessions. Can it get worse?!

Unique Hotel's answer: Hold my beer.

Breakfast time and it was terrible. I could not find anything that didn't taste plastic or chemical. A Swede would ask "Har de svenskt kaffe på hotellet?" no. No, they do not. I tried their coffee, and I have no idea what it was. It didn't taste like coffee at all.

So, in short? Don't stay in room 205. Don't stay at this hotel at all. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DANGEROUS HOTEL.

This is not the hotel you're...

This nice little hotel is really a great bargain. As an ex-hotelier, although I'm going on a budget trip (Stockholm is a notoriously expensive city) I really didn't expect with around €80 per night I could have such a nice treat for myself. The room is not really big as I booked the lowest price Studio, but I could notice the owner of the hotel must had been gone through everything thoroughly to create a room which ensures guests comfort is always in place. The cleanliness, the deco, the bed, even the TV, everything is great, nothing luxury, but stylish. The room rate also includes breakfast with a good variety of choices which could possibly accommodates any guests, and the replenishment of food is well speedy, even the restaurant is always pretty full during breakfast time, so this explains the staff attentiveness is also very good. Reception staff is also nice and helpful. I noticed that all staffs are Asians and maybe that's where the attentiveness and details came from, Asian hoteliers are typically like that. The location of the hotel is also great as it's just a 8mins walk from the Central Station, and only a 2mins walk to the no.53 bus stop which could take you to the old town area, and it's walking distance to a lot of tourist spots and restaurants. Definitely I'll visit again whenever I'm visiting Stockholm. It's so good that with the comparison of a really awful nightmarish stay at a hotel in Copenhagen right after my Stockholm stay, I even missed this hotel more. Very well done and I wish they could keep up this...

Arrived at 1:30 in the morning to an unattended reception. We were stuck in the street for 15 minutes until the night guard showed up after a random taxi driver was nice enough to call on our behalf. The next day, the hotel formed us that they had sent us an email for checking in instructions late at night that included codes to come in without help. I'm not saying they were wrong, but we didn't get an email on account to not having internet connectivity. The night security guard who showed up was very friendly and happy to help. The morning attendant was less so. Room and breakfast buffet was slightly below average for what you would expect at this price point at this location.
