Yuc Mexican — Restaurant in Stockholm

So.. unlike the others giving this place a low score because of the service I will focuse on the actual food and value only. First off they claim to have won "Gulddraken 2017" for best bar. That is insane. We ordered 7-8 drinks to the table and they were all a joke. There is no way they were made from a trained bartender.

I have spent a coouple years now going through the world's50bestbars list as I travel for a living so I have a pretty good knowledge of bars I'd say.

I don't expect every place i go to to have world class drinks but if you are promoting yourself as an award-winning bar then consider this; having ice-chunks in drinks where it shouldn't be and bad balance and poorly executed techniques for your cocktails and THEN charging outrages prices for them, does NOT make you a good bar.

In comparison the one bar at the list from Sweden called Linje 10 charge 130 sek to this joke of a bars 149 sek and are miles better.

Enough about the drinks and on to the food that I had hopes was going to redeam itself. It didn't. Terrible and appalling it's a joke to even call it remotely Mexican and I have to wonder to the others claiming they had a great meal there if they have had their sense of taste surgically removed? Bland, poorly spiced with sweet wafers used for taquitas?? It's an absolute joke and tasted like a cheap tex-mex.

Tortillas tasted like they were store bought. Super small portions that have huge price tags. 2800 sek for 4 people that had 8 drinks.

Let's move on to a personal favourite of mine; the tres leches cake. Was really looking forward to this one as I've had it in so many places whilst travelling. Let me tell you that a kindergarten child could have done this better! Whipped cream from a can! And sprinkles that you use as a topping for ice-cream.. all store bought.

Oh and I know I wasn't going to bring up service but just like to mention that we asked 6TIMES for guacamole to the table that never came despite them not being that busy. Just saying.

Avoid this place at any cost unless you enjoy terrible " Mexican " so called food with...

Mysig stämning, goda margaritas och tortillas. Rekommenderar räkorna och calamarin om man gillar tryffel. Även sötpotatispommesen hade perfekt krisp och smak.

Friday Aw:

Well I discovered that yuc is not the place for me a Friday after work when I just wanted to wind down after a busy week and enjoy good food with my partner. This is the place you go a Friday after work if you want to get pumped up for an evening out and care less about the conversation but still want to enjoy good food. Because the food is really good. Interesting and fancy take on Mexican and their margaritas is dangerous good. But the music is extremely load so it's hard to have a conversation even if you are just two people. This was not our night since they also lost our order, we thought we were smart when we just order two things since we quickly realized we couldn't enjoy the evening there, instead we were waiting longer than ever. When we finally got the food we just rushed through it. It was sad since it was so good. We have to give it another go a less busy day and hope we have a chance to enjoy more stuff...

I love "YUC!", but this time me and my partner were a bit disappointed. The food is great, though not so many vegetarian choices on the menu, those available are fantastic.

This time we felt forgotten by the waiter. We got the table at 17:00 but didn't get to order until 17:40 (we did get drinks though). 18:15 our food arrived and by that time we'd finished our drinks, hence the waiter asked if we wanted something more to drink which we replied with "yes, could we look at the drink list again?".

We got handed a drink list a couple of minutes later, and after that the waiter disappeared.

By the time we had finished our food we still hadn't got to order any more drinks... We didn't feel in the mood for any dessert so we grabbed the nearest waiter (which was serving other tables than ours) since our disappeared, and asked for the bill.

Our two first visits to this restaurant were above expectations so this was a big let down during our valentines since we had been looking forward...
