Seger was a stop on the Stockholm Food Tour. They delivered a perfect pairing of hearty comfort food and a delicate coastal appetizer, showcasing the best of traditional Swedish cuisine. The Appetizer: Toast Skagen served on a small cracker. The traditional Swedish shrimp mix was rich and creamy, featuring small, sweet shrimp bound in a light, slightly tangy dressing with flecks of herbs and crowned with a sprig of fresh dill. The dill's bright, anise-like flavor lifted the richness of the creamy sauce. Served on a small rye cracker (or tunnbröd), the appetizer provided a nice contrast in texture to the soft, creamy topping. It was a fresh, elegant, and light bite. The Main Event: Classic Swedish Meatballs The presentation of the Swedish Meatballs was classic and inviting. The meatballs themselves were sizeable, boasting a robust, savory flavor and a tender texture. They were complemented beautifully by: Creamy Mash: A generous serving of mashed potatoes, which provided a smooth, comforting base. The Gravy: The slightly sweet gravy was the unifying element, adding a rich, umami depth with a pleasant hint of sweetness that elevates it beyond standard brown gravy. A Crucial Counterpoint: The pickled cucumber slices were a crisp, tangy, and essential component. Their bright acidity cut through the richness of the meat and gravy, offering a refreshing palate cleanser with every bite. Lingonberry: The tartness of the lingonberry jam provided the final, authentic flourish, pairing wonderfully with the savory meat, a truly satisfying and well-balanced plate of Swedish comfort. This stop was a brilliant display of contrasting flavors and textures, the savory richness of the meatballs and the creamy lightness of the shrimp. A highly recommended experience for anyone seeking authentic Swedish culinary staples!

One of the best meals I had in Stockholm. I ordered steak tartare and the staff was flexible enough to swap out fries for sourdough bread and salad. The dipping sauce that came with the dish paired well with the tartare and sourdough. The impromptu salad they prepared was also one of the best I’ve ever had. The place is on the pricier side but it’s well worth it. They were even nice enough to not charge me for extra sourdough!

Good steak, nice location inside the market. We ordered a Sirloin and the meat was tender, and cooked perfectly. The Meatballs dish had good accompaniments but the meatballs flavor was just ok. Nice unfiltered Swedish lager. Prices are probably a bit higher than other similar places. The market has a good vibe and the dining experience feels authentic. I recommend to visit this market if you happen to be Stockholm.

My wife and I went to the market to eat in another restaurant that was recommended, however, was too pricey. Then, we decided to walk in the market and discovered M Seger. The food is casual Swedish, good portions and most importantly very tasty. The service was excellent. We really had very nice time. I have read reviews regarding the hidden prices, I have to say that we went in July 2018 and the prices were crystal clear. Additionally, they have amazing take away food. Bear in mind it isn’t cheap, but Stockholm...
