Restaurang Dionysos — Restaurant in Stockholm

We found this place because of a random Internet stranger who had posted a photo of the grilled octopus arm.

We came to Södermalm to enjoy that arm.

And enjoy we did!

I've been to Greece (more accurately the Greek islands) twice, and visiting this restaurant brought me back to the sunny Mediterranean. The decor, the service, the food... it was just amazing.

We had the Greek salad and the octopus appetizer while we waited for the mixed grill. Then we had the octopus again - not because the mixed grill took long, but because the octopus was simply so delicious. My wife doesn't drink, but I washed down my food with the Mega Cuvee III (the first glass I ordered because I found the name funny, and then had a second because it tasted so good)

We were served by Jannis, a perfect gentleman, who not only ensured we were taken care of, but also advised me on how I could try to recreate the experience back home.

We'll definitely visit again next time we're in Stockholm, and we will drop the mixed grill in favour of extra...

Probably won’t be returning here, it was just an unusual experience. My friend ordered a lamb dish, which was a HUGE portion with an entire plate of risotto (?). Would have been enough for 2 people. The lamb was really tender but lacked flavour. In comparison, my meal was really small and the chicken was dry and lacked flavour. We also waited about 30 minutes for the food too. Under alla år jag bott i området och ätit här har jag alltid haft en fantastisk upplevelse av att vara Varmt Välkommen som gäst. De senaste åren har dock maten (om möjligt) blivit ÄNNU bättre och är nu av absolut toppklass!!! Detta är i sanning en 5-stjärnig restaurang som VERKLIGEN inser innebörden av sann service och vikten av ett Gott Bemötande. Och som sagt - utöver detta står maten för en översinnlig njutning av sällan skådat slag! De borde ta mer betalt!

This greek restaurant is totally unique and one of a kind! I recommend everyone a visit! A well established familyowned business now based in Stockholm generations back - but they are still true to their greek roots and you will get the best of everything greek the moment you enter the place; the Warm Welcome, the lovely atmosphere - and ofcourse the food which is of 5-star quality right through the meal. It's a true sensual delight as you travel through the courses! And the service is Excellent! They know the meaning of true customer service!
