We had a terrible experience at this restaurant thanks to a head waiter that was extremely offensive to me and all the guests at our table.
My family and some business colleagues sat down for the banquet paired with wines, and my 1 year old baby decided it was time for a sleep. She fell asleep in my arms in the lobby after 5 minutes and I put her in her stroller to return to the banquet. On my return I was REFUSED ENTRY by the head waiter who said that “strollers were not permitted in the dining room and that having a sleeping baby in his dining room wasn’t going to work for him”. Shocked, I then said that I would take my meal in the foyer of which he refused to serve any food there either. My husband then came out and offered to eat quickly and swap with me at each course so that we could both eat our meals. Again the head waiter said that would “not work for him and that we must just sit down and not move for the banquet ”. So I was left NO CHOICE but to sit out in the foyer whilst the kitchen continued to serve EVERY COURSE to my empty seat despite the fact they refused me entry so I couldn’t eat it! Dreadful!
When the head waiter was not looking some staff came to me and apologized for his actions and said that if they were in my position they would be extremely offended and they would never treat a customer so poorly. This confirmed that he was way out of line making such demands.
So we won’t be returning and we advise others not to support such a business with terrible attitudes towards its customers with children. We were not notified when we booked and requested a high chair that this was their policy and there is nothing in their website to say that this is how they do business. There are plenty of other fine establishments in Stockholm where you can get great service. Shame on you Operakällaren, what happened to the idea of giving your customers great service and making...
Read moreTHIS was one of the verst experience of a lifetime My san made reservation at the Brasserie beside this restaurant , where we realized it has a Michelin star, was happy to see it and we decided to tray this, ( I am not to much of a fancy dress guy, we were wearing jeans and shirt.) DO NOT JUDJE THE BOOK BY ITS COVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! also i have been in the best restaurants around the world Michelin 3 stars 2 stars and one star We asked the metredee if there is available table He kindly asked to wait for the Manager That is wen the disaster started The most arrogant person i have ewer meat First he gave me a lecture that we may be at the wrong place because it has a tasting menu and a vine paring and it is quiet pricy, and wen i asked if they have available table, the answer was an other lecture of that we should cancel the reservation for the other restaurant because that would be a nice thing to do ( which we would have done anyway). After this introduction of the etiket we were able to get a table. Where my san put his Telephone and hie glasses on the table, which was removed by one of the waiter and put on the bag chair beside us (by the way i looked around and some of the other table had the phones and wallets and glasses on the table as well. The service was adequate. Waiters doing the usual table etikett which is acceptable at a Michelin 1 star restaurant with a smile. The food was over salty every meal. the presentation was quiet nice. If the manager would learn some table meaners and customer service, or just removed completely it could be a nice...
Read moreI agree with Georgia Gabrielle. The food was absolutely amazing BUT the head waiter (and some of the others) were pompous 'so and so's, who thought that they had the right to determine what we should drink. We had been out all day sightseeing in the rain, and arrived somewhat wet and cold. After removing our raincoats, we wanted to keep our jackets on to get warm but he insisted we remove them and that we would not need them once we drank some wine. How could he assume we would drink wine. For all he knew, we could have been recovering alcoholics. He then almost insisted we commence with a glass of champagne and when my husband asked for the drinks menu to study what was available, he kept pointing to the wine page. The 3 stars I have given for the food. The head waiter should be dismissed and perhaps they would receive a higher rating from me. Shame on you. Nowhere else in the world would this be tolerated. Certainly not in Australia and we have some of the best restaurants in the world. I would not recommend for anyone to go there unless you want to be made to...
