Strandbryggan — Restaurant in Stockholm

This place exudes coolness. Beautiful people doing beautiful things in a beautiful environment. Unfortunately, i apparently wasn't cool enough or beautiful enough to fit in. I noticed they put all the tourists upstairs in a back of the bus kind of way. I guess if you're a local, that alone is worth a five star review but if you're from the states (as we are) or from the UK or Australia (like the people sitting next to me) then you're out of luck. When I asked how I could go about getting a seat downstairs, they told me to help myself to any table without a reserved sign - except every table had a reserve sign. They told me they would come get me when a seat opened up but alas, two hours later, I gave up. Multiple people came and went during my time in purgatory. We were three girls who just wanted to enjoy a day off. When we entered the venue we were told we could sit anywhere for how ever long we wanted as long as we bought drinks etc… which we did (plenty of it). While we were drinking and eating we had waiters telling us we had to leave but in a very hostile manner. They told us the table was reserved and that the customers were waiting at the bar. We said okay let’s leave but we wanted to apologize to the customers who had reserved the table, since they ”waited” for us. Beautiful location and atmosphere, but the experience was disappointing as the service was not good. From the host to the servers, it was transactional at best. The staff seemed much more interested in talking and fooling around with each other vs focusing on the guest experience. In addition, we booking in advance, which was not easy, asking for a special table as we were celebrating a newly engaged couple.
