Two Fat Ladies in Stockholm — Restaurant in Stockholm

We visited today and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. After waiting nearly an hour for our food, it finally arrived cold and clearly not fresh.

We ordered Two Fat Gentlemen, Open Waffle with Hallomi, Açai bowls and the Angry Chicken.

We had ordered specific items from the menu, but what we received was either completely different or not what was listed. There was no explanation or communication about the changes. On top of that, we ordered two portions of the open waffle with halloumi, but were told after ordering that there wasn’t enough halloumi for both, which was incredibly frustrating.

The spicy chicken was particularly bad — stale and oddly textured, it barely resembled chicken at all. The poached eggs were completely overcooked and more like hard-boiled. As for the Yorkshire pudding, it was rock solid and inedible. The Açai bowl arrived completely melted, more like a watery soup than a smoothie bowl, and the portion was tiny. It looked nothing like what you’d expect.

The café also seemed severely understaffed, which may explain the slow service and lack of attention to detail—but that doesn’t excuse the poor food quality and lack of basic communication.

Overall, the quality of the food and the long wait left us very unimpressed. Definitely not worth the time or money.

A response to the reply: I appreciate your response. We were a group of 7 and we all ordered drinks and 6 dishes. You only refunded two of the dishes that were cold out of the six orders and we arrived at 1.50pm, closing time is 3pm. Had we been informed that the kitchen was closed, we would have gone elsewhere. Thank you for the prompt response but I hope you take this constructive criticism and improve for any future customers...

Now to the downsides…

If you expect to get full English breakfast when you order “Two fat Ladies” - this is not what you will get. The dish is packed into a “bowl” made out of a kind of puff pastry. You will get the whole sausage swimming in there together with a couple of mushrooms, a hash brown and literally 2 cocktail tomatoes, all drenched in beans. Eating the entire sausage out of this is a pretty clumsy experience Waiting time for 2 breakfast orders is approx 40 minutes and you will only know that once you are done with the wait (nobody tells you that upfront) - or if you read the reviews :) There are literally 8 tables in the whole place and compared with other places which are staffed similarly, there is nothing that would logically explain that time. If you order a drink, you will get it somewhere half-way through your wait for the food. So we were done with the coffee before the breakfast arrived. There is a distinct smell of fried oil in the place, and it is pretty small and easy to get crowded, so you won’t have anywhere to escape from the smell if you do not like it ;) Overall - there are plenty of other places you can go to enjoy better food with better sevice in nicer ambience for this (or...

We really wanted to visit this place because we saw so many beautiful photos on the Internet and we chose it one Wednesday morning for breakfast. I ordered halloumi waffles and my husband ordered a sandwich with scrambled eggs and shrimps. And the dishes actually look beautiful, but unfortunately the taste is not good. Persistent waffles with guacamole, arugula and sweet syrup do not work well. Unfortunately, I didn't eat it, although taste preferences can be discussed, but my husband paid 179 crowns for ONE egg (there should be scrambled eggs next to it, as it is written in the menu) and two shrimps (!)... a pair of nchos and two toasts. That's not how it's done. Unfortunately, we are not satisfied, the photos can be taken great, but the taste cannot be replaced. High prices, no satisfaction. Great idea, but poor execution.
