Overall, it offers excellent value for money—affordable pricing without compromising on quality or service. The location is super convenient, just a short walk from the train station, and it's easy to get around whether you're walking, taking the bus, or using the light rail. It’s especially great for independent travelers looking for ease and flexibility.
The downside, unfortunately, was the cleanliness of the bathroom. When I checked in, I noticed there were still hairs from the previous guest on the floor, and there was even a used cleaning cloth left in the corner. It gave the impression that the bathroom hadn’t been properly cleaned before my stay, which was disappointing. I really hope the hotel improves its housekeeping standards, because otherwise it has great potential.
The surrounding area is also well-equipped, with plenty of international restaurants nearby, so finding good food is never an issue. There’s even a post office close by, which is perfect if you’re planning to send postcards—just one more thoughtful convenience.
The room itself was quite satisfying. For solo travelers like myself, the hotel offers single rooms that are simple, cozy, and just right. The bathroom had a dry-wet separation, which made everything feel much more hygienic and comfortable. I also appreciated the small but thoughtful detail of providing disposable face towels—such touches show how much they care about guests’ needs.
The lobby offers free tea and coffee, which is a nice bonus whether you need a pick-me-up in the morning or a warm drink in the evening after a long day out. One of the biggest highlights, though, was definitely the breakfast. It far exceeded my expectations! There was an impressive variety of options—breads, toppings like ham and fresh veggies, egg dishes, desserts, cookies, and both hot and cold drinks. It was so filling and diverse that it could easily pass for brunch.
Just a small note: the breakfast area doesn’t have a lot of seating, so if you go during peak hours, there might be a bit of a wait. I’d suggest heading down a little earlier to grab a spot.
All in all, I was very pleased with the location, price, and overall service of Rex Hotel. It’s definitely a place I’ll be keeping at the top of my list the next time I...
Read moreI stayed at the Rex Hotel for a week during early October 2023. Was on a work related trip to Karolinska Institutet. The hotel is located very centrally at Radmansgatan T Station on Green Line only one station away from T-Centralen where all airport bus services terminate. If you are not with heavy luggage can walk too; which I did actually. The area is really nice, quiet and the hotel is tucked away in an alley. Plenty of food options are nearby catering to all tastes. Stockholm Public Library is just a couple of blocks and Odenplan is a short and pleasant walk. Old Stockholm, Gamla Stan, is only a couple of T stations away. Rooms are not big, rather small, but in Stockholm living space is a premium actually. Although small the room is comfortable and warm; one night the temperature went down to -1° Celsius, but felt warm and cozy inside. The only problem is storage space, which needs to be adjusted somehow. The complimentary breakfast is a delight. With plenty of options including cheese, cereals, veggies, breads, meats and eggs. Complimentary coffee is at the lobby and you are free to fill and take to your room. People in the reception are courteous and helping. Overall I loved my stay at the Rex Hotel and shall be here, when I return...
Read moreWe arrived early before our room was ready. At 3pm our room wasn't ready. An older balded guy at the reception didn't treat us very nice. While I was asking regarding the room he send me away while another guest arrived to check the other guest in and after I've complained it didn't get better. We ended up canceling the room and went to another hotel and nothing was done to keep us or saying at least sorry for the inconvience. I would not recommend anyone to book that hotel. The breakfast area where we had to wait wasn't very clean and modern, the service of the reception wasn't very polite and the location of the hotel is not very optimal for visiting Stockholm neither. I hope the owner will talk with the person at the reception we had to deal with on May 5th in the afternoon (the staff in the morning was okay), but nobody offered or tried to priotize the cleaning of our room or anything. A simple "sorry" could do wonders, but seems not something the person at the reception...
