Fish was spectacular, I had the roe, which was served with copiously buttered toast and a garlic cream to start and my spouse had salmon carpaccio- both were great!
I had halibut with prawns and egg yolk, served in clarified butter; the fish and egg yolk was awesome, the prawns were okay, as were the potatoes, but I'm really not sure why the horseradish was on the plate at all. The halibut was so moist; literally perfect!
My partner had the pike-perch with mushrooms and pumpkin. This dish was beautifully presented and tasted equally beautiful, the skin was perfectly crispy and mouthwateringly moist.
For dessert I had the apple compote with a home made doughnut (sugar and cinamom) and vanilla ice cream. It was really good.
My partner had the chocolate truffle which was impeccable and decadent.
I would recommend this place to anyone that enjoys casual dining, but good food. It should have been a giveaway that it was going to be great-- the place is actually a fishmonger's shop with tables and wait staff during lunch and dinner...

Food - 10/10 Incredibly fresh seafood, zero harshness or “fishy taste” every flavor is delicately balanced with the next. I got the sampler appetizer upon recommendation from the staff, and each was so good that I couldn’t choose one for a main course. Again I asked my waitress for the most traditional Swedish dish and she immediately pointed me to the Röding. Not a mistake. It was delicious and again everything was in a delicate balance. Nothing was greasy, overly salty, dry, etc.
Waitstaff - 10/10 I feel like I already covered this but they were extremely helpful to a newcomer in the country.
Atmosphere - 10/10 I just loved it. People in here complain about it eating next to a fishmarket? FISH IS ONE OF THE TWO WORDS IN THE NAME. they have fish and it is delicious. Do not miss this place if you...
Read moreWe had an early dinner in this basic eatery, attached to a fish monger's store. You cannot reserve a table in the garden so when weather is nice and all tables are taken you are invited to wait for a free table seated at one of several other tables where you can only consume drinks. That reduces the need for personnel. The staff is young and pleasant and can support a joke. We had shrimps, salt marinated salmon and witch sole, all of good quality and well prepared. On the negative side is the disgusting condition of the only toilet easily available for the garden clients. This is below the standards for a restaurant of this kind and explains our three stars...
