We came on a quiet Tuesday evening for the first seating, just after 6pm. The online reservation informed us we’d need to be done with our meal by the next seating at 8pm. That fit our schedule fine, but it wasn’t busy that night, so I suspect we could have stayed longer. The large sashimi plate we shared as our appetizer was excellent, with a very good variety of fish. There were tiny little shrimps that were almost sweet; tender scallops; hamachi (not easy to find in Switzerland); melt-in-your-mouth salmon; Wildbarsch (I forget what that is in English); mackerel; maguro; prawns; and some little “ear” sushi. The fish was decorated with delicious shizu (a real treat) and edible flowers. We chose the spicy ramen as our main and it was indeed quite spicy, which we liked! The table next to us also ordered it and had to blow their noses throughout their meal — it might have be a bit much for the typical Swiss palate. It had a rich broth and ground beef, which was different from what we are used to in ramen. The waitress said the Japanese chef makes it that way, and the flavor was good. I would try the more traditional pork ramen next time, though. Our waitress was very attentive and the meal was well paced. It was very quiet, which is nice, but we were sitting next to the only other couple in the restaurant for an hour, which wasn’t optimal. It put a damper on our conversations since we could all hear every word said. Next time, I’d ask to sit a bit further away. Overall, it was a very good meal in a nice, friendly place. It’s a bit pricy, but I wouldn’t hesitate to return. The sashimi was worth it.

Having left Asia for close to two years I’ve been having a craving for a great bowl of ramen, and I found it in Yuki Kun! The miso soup was sooooooo delicious and the ramen had a perfect consistency. The desserts including the cheesecakes and Mochi to top off our lunch made it an excellent meal. The staff and Yuki-San were very accommodating and made it a very pleasant dining experience. (We came when the kitchen just closed and they offered to make us ramen which we really appreciated). Will definitely come again and try the other things on the menu! It’s very hard to find authentic Japanese ramen in Switzerland but I finally found it here!

Es ist ja zudem auch kein all you can eat.
