Apetizer was ok, BUT the mozzarella tasted like basic cow milk mozzarella, not like mozzarella di bufala.
Pizza was okay but very oily, probably used a pre-made cheese mix?
Tiramisu was horrible and not fresh. Tasted like old mascarpone (tasted like cheese?!?), old stale coffee in the biscotti The cocoa powder was totally inmerged in the creme, a sign, that it was standing around for a while. (Premade, frozen, thawed and then kept in a fridge the whole day or more?) I am still nauseous five hours later and I hope I will not throw up later. I highly suggest you don't sell this ever again, for the sake of other customers and their health.
Not the kind of "Italian" food I am used to. If you know what is authentic, you do not need to go here. It may be good for those who do not know better.
Service was fine, staff was kind. But the food can't make it better. And don't claim that the "tiramisu and panna cotta are housemade" when there isn't even panna cotta on the menu. The lady was probably talking about the cheesecake. Which was fine but too sweet and, in my opinion, is not something you should offer in an Italian restaurant (because it isn't). Not to mention Pizza Hawaii... inaccettabile. And when you serve frozen and thawed tiramisu, why bother with making it in-house? I really have my doubts that it was in fact housemade. Not worth the money.
Pretty lackluster for the high rating it has gotten here, therefore...
Read moreAsked about multiple empty tables but we were told they’re reserved. Nearly 2 hours later those tables remained empty the entire time we dined. Ordered Truffle Ravioli, but was given some other Truffle pasta. When we pointed it out to the waitress she said she put the correct order in but the kitchen made the wrong thing. So she gave us the wrong thing and just pretended it would be fine? Didn’t even think to apologize till we brought it to her attention. Did she think we just wouldn’t notice? How bizarre! She offered us free espresso as a good will gesture, and then never offered us coffee, dessert, or anything at the end. We ended up having to pay for something we never ordered and left. It was a busy night, and we overheard staff through the night making comments like “Ugh English” and “Welcome to the jungle”. This isn’t just a foreigner leaving a bad review - my partner is Swiss and she felt the same. I don’t think we will...
Read moreRestaurant la Citadella is on street level and easy to access. Notice that in my grading 4 is very good and 5 is outstanding. The waiter was very welcoming and friendly and we were quickly seated. The menu is wide and there is something for everybody. We started with bruscetta dust for tasty with a strong days of garlic that I liked very much in addition to good tomatoes. After that we had a mixed salad with Italian dressing. For the main course I had pizza Napoli that was really good with a lot of fish. The pizza was tasty and salty and the pizza dough was perfectly baked on the darker side which I prefer. We didn't have dessert but some good coffee instead. Overall we were very happy with our visit to this restaurant and we...
