Department 66 — Restaurant in Bern

Excellent service, the waiter struggled to speak English but he tried his best and was friendly. Came here to celebrate July 4th since it’s an American bar as the coaster indicates. I wanted something light he recommended this beer (in the picture) which ended up being tasty (I’m not a beer drinker but it was a tad bitter/strong).

For it to be as crowded as it was, the waiter did a great job to make sure the inside and outside were taken care of. When I was ready for my check he didn’t tell me to wait, he cashed me out immediately. I believe the price on the menu is 8 but he only charged me 6.6 which I think is a good deal, maybe it was happy hr. This is also in a great location a block behind the Main Street (but this is also considered one of the main streets just not the most grand). I look forward to returning, bathrooms were also clean and accessible downstairs.

Das Department 66 in Bern zeigt, dass wahre Cocktailkunst noch lebt – und das mitten in der Stadt. Die Drinks? Richtig gut. Kreativ, ausgewogen, liebevoll gemixt und qualitativ auf Top-Niveau. Klar, die Preise sind auf dem bekannten „2025er-Cocktail-Level“ – aber man schmeckt, wofür man zahlt.

Das Personal ist ein echtes Highlight: freundlich, aufmerksam und angenehm professionell – man fühlt sich willkommen und gut aufgehoben.

Einziger Wermutstropfen: Die Bar ist eher kompakt – oder sagen wir es charmant: intim. Wer klaustrophobische Tendenzen hat, wartet besser auf den Sommer und die Aussenplätze.

Fazit: Wer exzellente Cocktails liebt und eine entspannte Atmosphäre zu schätzen weiss, ist hier goldrichtig – vorausgesetzt, man ergattert rechtzeitig...
