Update: wow. What can I say? We had a refined and elegant, yet also approachable and delicious, meal for dinner. The cocktails are a work of art and I even enjoyed flavors I typically would avoid because they were so well done. Service was impeccable, everyone seems very professional, and all worked fluidly together as a team. This is something I always look for in my restaurant experiences. We never felt ignored or stressed.
The portions were more than enough for the two of us to share; we had five plates and two desserts and I left uncomfortably full. The food and drinks, unlike some other reviews, are absolutely worth the price and well portioned.
Original: Only had the chance for Brunch thus far, but excited to go back. Relieved to see something original and refreshing in Bern. There's nothing else like it in my opinion. Brunch was great. Cocktails too. Shared plates concept gives you the chance to try a bit of everything. Prices are reasonable considering the quality of ingredients. Looking forward to what comes...
Read moreOur group of 4 stumbled upon the Capitol during our recent visit to Bern and were very pleased with the quality of the food we chose and the excellent service provided by our server Julia and her co-workers. During our early May visit, the menu was “small plate “ portions so we ordered 2 per person and a variety we could all share. We got 2 pretzels, an order of Parmesan crisps, 2 orders of the Black Angus beef nuggets (Delicious!), 2 trout donuts , 2 orders of fries with truffle mayo and everyone had a glass of the local Riesling. Everything was yummy and even my 83-year old mom, who had never had this type of food, was pleased with the experience. Keep in mind that these are not American portions, but we all had enough to eat. Thanks to the Capitol staff we had a great evening meal in...
Read moreWhere to start….. I went for dinner with a friend and started off with some of the small plates (pickles, olives, soda bread, beef nuggets) and quickly decided to order the entire menu. I think the best words to describe the experience are: ‘Quality’ and ‘Approachable’. It’s evident that the chef (and team) want to provide delicious and comforting food with a strong focus on ‘good’ ingredients, without the pretentiousness of many of the restaurants today.
The sharing concept is on point, as I don’t know how someone could refrain from trying all the plates brought to the table…..
Overall, it was a lovely experience and you can feel (taste?) the love put into the food.
I’ll be back soon to try the brunch…. Also, any chance you can share the...
