Kramer — Restaurant in Bern

Walked a few times by, looks and feel of the restaurant would fit to me, menu card as well. Let's try. The service employees were really happy, warm and welcoming even on a busy evening. They have -for a restaurant- a massive choice of bottled beer, great! Ordered a bottled Uszit beer, and I was asked if I would like to have a glass to drink, perfect! Dislike it when i'm at a restaurant and have to drink directly from the bottle. We ordered a vegetarian burger and a pulled pork burger. Which are served quickly. The fondue was very delicious, the bread they gave us was fresh and crunchy still. The tofu poke bowl I ordered was nothing more than basic and probably not worth the price but it was alright. My main issue is how they charged me 3 francs for a glass of TAP water. If you’re going to charge for tap water, at least have the kindness beforehand to inform the customer before you charge them 3 francs. I don’t know if this is normal in Bern but never have I been charged 3 francs for a small glass of lukewarm tap water. Just be aware of that before you go.

Good service, very average food. The staff was friendly, polite and efficient. Sadly this was as good as it got. The burger was priced at 25 francs, which will get you an excellent burger in a descent joint. The bread was average, the meat was okay, but the burger was underwhelming as a whole. The sauce was either scant or had little taste. I'd place it between McDonald's and Holy Cow. The sides were a joke, with 5 tiny potatoes.
