Great new hotel in the center of Bern. Very modern striking design and great choice for a simple but good stay. Located right next to the beautiful Rosengarten which has spectacular views over the Altstadt of Bern, the hotel is close on foot to the main attractions. It’s nice to walk to the Rosengarten, then down the hill and past the Bärengraben, across the Nydeggbrücke and into the old town. If you’re not much of a walker however, no problem! Right outside is a bus stop that the number 10 bus stops at and will drop you into the city center in less than 10 minutes.
The staff at reception and throughout the hotel are extremely helpful and friendly, and I thoroughly recommend the rooftop terrace and bar on the 7th floor, which has very nice views of the hills and old town, and also does the nicest homemade lemonade I’ve ever had!
The rooms are very large, modern and comfortable with good beds and nice new bathrooms. As a 2 star hotel they are very sparsely equipped, which I expect and agree with for the most part, like no tea and coffee facilities in the room or no safe, and only very simple toiletries, however I would like a cup or glass for water at night, however there is a hairdryer, clothes hangers etc… Big shout out the the TV which is large and new and also has phone connectivity function which enables you to watch things from your phone, tablet or laptop, as well as YouTube, Netflix etc… Another benefit of being such a new hotel is that the beside tables have wireless charging pads (I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels and I think this is the first time I’ve seen this!) as well as USB charging points meaning if you’ve forgot your adapter it’s fine. That being said I saw they had every possible variety to borrow at reception…
Breakfast was great too with a decent range highlighting lovely Swiss produce like the cheeses, meats and Zöpf. The coffee machine is fantastic with a massive range of coffees and hot drinks and makes good quality beverages. There’s also the possibility to have a take away coffee, which somewhat makes up for the lack of drinks facilities in the room. There is also a pancake machine but it takes a little while to make fresh pancakes, so I recommend starting the process when you arrive for breakfast and leaving your plate there for the pancakes to deposit on, and in the meantime go and get a coffee ;) otherwise all the other food and drink is of good quality and the breakfast restaurant is nice.
All in all this is a really good option to stay in when in Bern. Great connectivity, amazing location, friendly staff and modern but simple amenities, I would love...

I cannot stress enough how bad my experience was at this hotel. From the moment I checked in, the staff, including the owner himself, were shockingly rude. Any questions I had were met with dismissive, unpleasant responses – appalling behavior from someone running a business.
The room I was given had an overwhelming, chemical-like odor that hit me the moment I walked in. It smelled like paint or harsh cleaning agents. I asked to switch rooms, but every alternative had the same unbearable stench. The owner tried to brush it off as if that’s the smell of cleaning liquid, but believe me, this was NOT the smell, it smelled like a toxic factory. I was forced to sleep with the windows open in 4°C weather because the heater maxed out at a mere 23°C – quite stingy for a supposed "Radisson."
To make matters worse, there were no phones in the room, so any request required a trip to the front desk – far from the service you'd expect at this price point. Adding to the frustration, I was informed at check-in that late checkout would cost 15 CHF. When my husband later requested it, they charged him 25 CHF, and our key cards still deactivated at noon. When I went to complain, the staff brushed it off as “odd” with no real explanation or apology. Though we were refunded the difference, they still kept the initial 15 CHF charge – unacceptable after their attempt to overcharge us.
The bed was good enough and the room decent, but it isn’t enough for me to ever consider this place or recommend it.
If you value decent treatment, proper room amenities, and straightforward billing, do yourself a favor: spend a bit more and stay somewhere else. This hotel is not worth...
Read moreI was a bit skeptical when I booked the room for 6 nights, but after my stay at the Prizeotel, it was a great choice. The staff at the hotel were VERY friendly and helpful, especial Mariana. They were a delight to talk to and also answered my queries. Also the lady at the Rooftop bar and the young gentleman at the breakfast were very polite and friendly. The room given was 708. The room was big and spacious, clean, and it had a beautiful view overlooking Bern. The bathroom was also spacious, and it included soaps and a hair dryer. The bed was comfortable but unfortunately the pillow was not comfortable for me as it was one of those big, very soft pillows. The room included an air-condition, but it's more of an air circulator than an air-condition. Luckily the temperature in Bern was not hot, so the room felt comfortable. The room was very quiet. The room does not offer a safe or a fridge. The breakfast in my opinion was good. it does not include hot dishes, but they had a good number of choices of cold cuts, cereal, sweet pastries, fruit, and coffee. The hotel is located 6 minutes away from the Bern bahnhof by bus, and the bus stops exactly in-front of the hotel. To get to the hotel you have to get Bus number 10 direction Ostermundigen, Rüti and stop at Schonburg. All in all it was a good choice, and thank you for making my stay in Bern extra special. I would recommend this hotel and I would certainly stay again...
