La Corte - caffè dell'arte — Restaurant in Circolo di Locarno

We've visited La Corte for the first time and had our first breakfast in this awesome little caffè. The location is downright beautiful, their backyard is green like a forest and neatly maintained, the little fountains add a relaxing touch to the atmosphere.

The food was delicious, organic, all homemade and beautifully presented.

They have lots of vegetarian and vegan options. We had some of the best pancakes we've ever had and a tasty roastbeef open toast. The coffe was very good as well.

All though the host is young, he offered us the best service we've expericed in Ticino, he was friendly, funny and extremely polite and professional. He also wrote the menu and the recipes they cook are all his own. You can feel his passion when he talks about what he does. He certainly knows how to make you feel comfortable in his restaurant.

We waited in the entrance for almost 15 minutes and got completely ignored by the staff. All of the 3 waiters looked us in the eyes multiple times but made no effort to greet us. There where more than 5 empty tables. After the long wait we decided to speak up and ask if we please could have a table and eat brunch. They told us with one single word that it was full and walked right away. Very very disappointed. Bad costumer service and rude.

Edit: Clearly the manager doesn't even know who I am and confuses me with someone other. How could he know who I am. Nobody approached us or asked us if we needed help. We were completely ignored. Rush hour? I didn't even specify on what time I arrived so how would you now when I was there. To have the audacity to make up lies under my comment just further proves my point....

After the warmest service and most delicious meal our first morning, we decided to come back the next day for breakfast again! I wanted everything on the menu and am convinced I could not have gone wrong with any plate. The presentation is beautiful and flavors even better. Both breakfasts were so creative and thoughtful (and pancakes some of the best I’ve had). And you can see the passion on Nils’ face and in his conversation. It was the most personal service we had during our trip, and by the end of the meal Nils felt like a friend. The breakfast toast was not by any means wanting avocado, which is saying a lot as I’m from California and avocado on everything is a given. Haha thank you Nils and team!! Can’t wait...
