What a disappointing start to our Lugano trip.
If you’re a tourist visiting Lugano, do yourself a favor — save your pride and skip this place. I’ll be fair: I can’t comment on the food because I never even got the chance to try it, thanks to the appalling treatment we received.
My brothers and I arrived and stood in line, patiently waiting. At first, we understood why they seated others ahead of us — the available tables were for two, and we were three. But after waiting about 15 minutes, a table for four became available. Naturally, we expected to be seated next. To our surprise, they began seating people who arrived after us instead.
I went inside to ask about it and was told to wait “two minutes.” Eventually, they seated us at a terrible table shoved in a corner — frankly, a spot I wouldn’t even seat a stray dog in, let alone paying customers. Still, we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and sat down.
That was another mistake. No menus, no plates, no service. Waiters passed by multiple times, clearly seeing us sitting there with nothing — and completely ignored us. At that point, enough was enough. We left, with our dignity intact.
I’ve visited restaurants all over Switzerland and have always encountered warm, welcoming service — but here, it was shockingly rude and dismissive. An utterly terrible experience. This is the first time I’ve felt compelled to write a negative review, but this was...
Read moreOn a chilly, rainy October, following a refreshing group promenade, our ravenous group of 21 women sought refuge in the welcoming embrace of Lugano’s renowned Spaghetti Store. Despite the weather’s gloomy demeanor, the restaurant’s warm ambiance and accommodating staff immediately lifted our spirits.
We were pleasantly surprised by the amiability of the staff, whose prompt and humorous service swiftly catered to the demands of our sizable group. The efficiency with which they attended to our orders, particularly considering the ravenous appetites of 20 hungry women, was commendable.
However, it was the desserts that undeniably stole the show. With every bite, the delectable treats tantalized our taste buds, delivering a symphony of flavors that were a perfect blend of sweetness, smoothness, and creaminess. Each dessert felt like a genuine indulgence, tailored to satisfy even the most insatiable sweet tooth.
The Spaghetti Store might have “spaghetti” in its name, but it’s truly the desserts that leave an enduring impression. Despite the bustling atmosphere, the restaurant managed to create a cozy and inviting setting, perfect for an afternoon delight with friends or family. With its delectable array of sweet delights and efficient, jovial service, the Spaghetti Store in Lugano is undoubtedly a place worth visiting, especially for those with a penchant for...
Read moreWe had a great night celebrating my Mother-In-Laws Birthday tonight with a great food. Top! We had Spaghetti alla Pescatora, Spaghetti Caruso and Tagliolini Freschi. We went there as a Walk-in. I would suggest to book a reservation first before coming, to avoid the hassle of waiting in line. Because it becomes really crowded at times and that only means great food. For us it was all worth the wait. We enjoyed the night and was well satisfied with our food. Big servings and i would say their seafood pastas are definitely a must try. Finger lickin' good seafoods! I would also like to commend the Host for the Night, he really knows how to handle people who are waiting in Line. Though, seems our server is a little rattled with all his tables. Maybe that's the reason why he dropped the little bag of 4pcs bread on our table and our plates and also did not check-back on us. Still, Would definitely comeback here on our next vacation for the food. Thank you Spaghetti Store for making this night special for us, especially to my Mother-In-Law. A must try and Highly...
