THAI ORCHID Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Circolo di Lugano ovest

We arrived at 9:12 PM, tired tourists, and this was the worst dining experience we’ve ever had. We’ve been waiting for 1 hour and 30 minutes without any food. The service is a complete joke, with only one server for the entire restaurant, and she seems indifferent. The tables were dirty, and plates and glasses still had leftover food and soap on them. Absolutely disgusting and unhygienic.

We repeatedly informed them that we ONLY eat chicken, and some of us are VEGETARIANS who avoid eggs and meat entirely. Yet, they still served us beef curry and dishes with egg, forcing our vegetarian friends to consume things they don’t eat by either lying or ignoring our requests. That’s completely unacceptable and disrespectful.

When we complained, the server took the food back with a terrible attitude, as if we were bothering her. She wouldn’t even write down our order; she made us write it ourselves on paper while she ignored us and happily served everyone else. Then she began taunting us with rude, sarcastic comments, turning the whole experience into a disaster.

And now she’s ignoring us, and suddenly another server appears and starts serving us??? If she was there the whole time, WHY WAS THIS SUCH A MESS? The AC wasn’t working, so it felt like a furnace inside. We were sweating profusely and starving. This place is absolute TRASH. We stopped by this restaurant for a thai dinner but it didn't meet our expectations: first of all it took them more than 50 mins to serve us our first order which was a soup "tum yum" yeah it was good but 50 to 60 mins for that is way too much. The main course took another 30 mins on top of that. The rise used is basmati rise not traditional thai rise or jasmine rice The main course food was average nothing special nor does it reflect the beauty of thai food which is way I chose the restaurant in the first place. They did apologize and served us vegetable spring rolls for the delay

Went there with a company of friends some time ago. The place itself is very nice and quite, conveniently located. Staff is quite friendly and nice. Service is fast. But, there were some disappointments: Appetisers came quite small. The selection of vegetarian dishes is extremely poor and the portion of egg fried rice is also quite small and boring. I had noodles with shrimps and my friend had the same order. My portion was almost 1.5 times smaller than my friend's. That looked ridiculous. But, I have to say that the taste was very good.
