We came here for my mom's 60th Birthday, the decision was made by me and it was just a quick google search. My mom wanted to try a French restaurant for once, so did her friends, and we were all blown away! This is a small, quaint and very intimate restaurant but amazing service, food and atmosphere.
I actually had to book a table for 16, I booked it through their website but it required me to call their number because it was more than 10 people and I can't make those kind of phone calls because I'm not a local. So, I split the booking between myself and my sister; 8 and 8; and gave them a message from both of us that we are booking for same party and it would be good to combine both bookings. Even if they couldn't do it, it would still be great as we are all still in the same restaurant. Lo and behold, they got my email, replied to me in french(good thing I can read french), and that they got the message and combined both bookings! How amazing was that?
They managed to fit us all in one long table, bare in mind again that there's 16 of us, and we managed to fit. Just about. We were greeting by a waiter named Gerome(?), I hope I spelt that correct, but he was amazing; friendly, informative and fast. He managed to serve us to an amazing standard and still serve all the other people around us. He told us all about the dishes, advised us what's best or what wasn't on the menu, as well as drinks. Whether it was wine or water. He was just splendid! He also spoke English and was super easy to communicate with.
The food, oh dear lord the food, it was amazing! Lets start with the starter, we had the beef carpaccio, fried prawns with coconut and coriander and foie gras with gingerbread toast, they were all absolutely delicious! Especially, the foie gras paired with the ginger bread toast, it was just phenomenal!
With the mains, Gerome advised us to have the dish of the day which was the beef medallions in mustard sauce with vegetables, a few of us took it and a few of us ordered off the menu, but the dish of the day took the win as it was brilliant! A special mention to the Sirloin Steak and Chicken and mushroom dish as they were also amazing! Even the kids had an amazing time with their meals!
All in all, it was an amazing! It was a great atmosphere, it was nice and personal and the food was amazing! MUST MUST MUST VISIT!

Read moreOf course such a restaurant is a must stop for any foodie visiting the city, Great food to say, BUT unfortunately terrible experience for us. Reason is that our waitress was one of the rudest waiters I have ever had, very unfortunate. The attitude of the waitress was very unprofessional, her name starts with J but no need to say I don’t intend to publicly say but management will figure out. and being a restaurant owner myself I know how much staff can cause damage to a business. Many things she did wrong, starting with being rude answering me when I asked for a menu, with a sarcastic laugh she said we only have one item here.. ok .. food comes, and finishes round 1, round 2 came as surprise as we didn’t know they’d do it on 2 rounds.. asking for a menu meaning it’s my first time visiting, smart lady. Round 2 came and mid way through found a HAIR in the food. Politely pointed to her that there’s a hair in the food, and here’s what she does.. she moves the fries with hair back to the plate and say some French words which I don’t understand in an extremely sarcastic way and she packs the other dishes on top of the plate and goes to the kitchen to come back later with the bill put it on the table and ask me how would you like to pay. I was in shock asked her for the store manager, she goes and call an older lady whom seem like her direct supervisor. She was polite and apologized in respective manner. To the management, the waitress is either a racist disrespecting certain people or just a wild one that need to be continuously on the supervisor’s radar. In both cases she will benefit from reading more on self management, etiquette...
Read moreI have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Entrecôte Couronnée in Pâquis district in Geneva, Switzerland.
The restaurant is clearly a long-established and old-fashioned spot in Geneva, specializing in beef entrecôte served with their signature herb sauce, fries, vegetables, and a green salad as a starter. While the entrecôte was good, one of our group members ordered fish, and the dish did not match the menu description. The promised ratatouille was replaced by generic vegetables, and an unexpected cream sauce was served instead—an issue for our lactose-intolerant friend. However, the staff addressed this quickly by replating without the sauce and even adding extra fish, which we appreciated.
Overall, the food was good but not outstanding, with prices that are fair. The dining experience, however, was marred by the atmosphere. The restaurant was very loud, with tightly packed tables that made moving around quite uncomfortable. While it has a charm rooted in tradition, it might benefit from some updates to the interior layout for a more...
