A mixed experience really, nice food spoilt by poor service and rude staff!
The whole place is beautifully decorated and the macaroons and drinks were surprisingly reasonable prices (for Geneva). We initially went to the takeaway counter to choose macaroons. They were delicious and the woman serving us was very friendly and helpful, and even offered to store my macaroons in their fridge when we decided to stay for a coffee.
We then stayed for a cocktail and decided to move seats, we had a new waiter who was unaware that cocktails were on the menu, telling us we couldn’t have them when we asked. Once we finally got our drinks they weren’t bad, however, I found myself trying to avoid sucking orange zest shavings up through the straw by accident. We asked for the bill twice and the waiter (a different one again) was rather unpleasant and sarcastic the second time, which seemed uncalled for as we had waited at least another 5 mins before asking again, and were one of only two tables.
I wish I’d left after my coffee, it is a lovely place with lovely food, however, the experience was somewhat...
Read moreLadurée in Geneva is a charming, picturesque cafe right along the Rhône River. The interior is elegant and classically Parisian, with pastel tones, checkered floors, gold-trimmed accents, and a gorgeous display of sweets. It’s definitely one of those quintessential stops if you’re visiting Geneva and want to enjoy some delicate pastries and a coffee.
Seating is limited, it’s a popular location with many people choosing to take their desserts to go. We were able to sit inside and enjoy our treats in the lovely ambiance. I ordered a raspberry macaron dessert with fresh raspberries, cream, and a rose petal on top. It looked almost too pretty to eat. We also tried a decadent chocolate dessert topped with Ladurée’s signature “L” and finished with a touch of gold. Paired with a warm cup of coffee, it made for a perfect late afternoon break.
If you’re looking for something classically French in the heart of Geneva, this is...
Read moreI regretted to write a nice post few years back, I kept getting there for macarons and cakes, yet this morning, I’m very disappointed. I wanted to buy a special Halloween edition box of 8 macarons for my daughter, the staff was kinda rude, insisted that there was only 12 pcs box for Halloween .I wanted just to buy 4 but she insisted for me to buy 8 with a usual box which is same price than the Halloween one.
She should had told me if there is any possible store in swiss that I can buy the Halloween version box, no problem, I still bought a box of macarons, but I wouldn’t return.
I have so much free time to spend in Switzerland, I would give it to somewhere friendly and worthy of my attention then Ladurée!
(Great location, friendly staff, fresh and delicious pastries, will surely go back whenever I go to Geneva👍🏼 8£ for the hot chocolate and 8.5£for the cake, it’s normal price in Switzerland, and it’s...
