Wow! This place is absolutely incredible! The location is simply unbeatable - right in front of Geneva's iconic water fountain! But it gets even better. Nestled in a beautiful historic house, the restaurant boasts an amazing garden setting. It feels incredibly peaceful and open, like a hidden oasis, despite being right in the heart of the busy city.
We initially started outside, mesmerized by the view of the lake and the picturesque surroundings. We honestly didn't want to leave! When the evening turned a bit chilly, we moved inside seamlessly.
The food itself is delicious! The portions are perfectly sized, with a focus on fresh, healthy ingredients and lots of delicious vegetables. There's a delightful Moroccan twist to many dishes, making the entire experience a culinary adventure. The wine selection is fantastic. Don't be fooled by the "small size" dishes. We finished our meal feeling satisfied and light.
This restaurant is perfect for any meal of the day. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner, but the menu looked fantastic for breakfast, lunch, or just a relaxing afternoon coffee and snacks.
The service was another highlight. Our host was incredibly friendly and spoke perfect English (along with what seemed like every other language under the sun!).
We were so impressed, we're coming back every day we're in Geneva! This is a true gem, and we can't recommend it highly enough.

Read moreI had read about cottage cafe prior to coming to Geneva and it was on my list of places to try. I was very excited as the menu looks delicious. The food did not disappoint, however service was a bit odd. I arrived, one guest, looking forward to enjoying some delicious food alfresco and my book but ended up being told I can only stay for an hour (hey, I have no problem eating fast it's how fast you folks can cook it up and serve) and got seated in front of a super loud accordion player for part of it. There were some other tables that were quieter and I inquired sitting at them but they said 'no' because they were bigger (some were 2 person tables, I understand if you don't want one person to take up a bigger table . . . and they didn't end up seating any bodies there anyway). Some aggressive birds tried to become dinner companions (not really anything the restaurant can do). Otherwise, the food was super delicious. I ordered the salad sucre and lamb stuffed zucchini, both i'd recommend. Was hoping to try the baby octopus but they did not have any that day.
not sure where I sit on going...
Read moreI have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Cottage Café in Geneva.
A charming little restaurant with a few nice terrace tables set right in the middle of a park, almost by the lakeside in Geneva and just next to the grand hotels along the quai. The location is beautiful, with some Asian-inspired architecture in the park and shaded spots on the terrace.
Service is quick and efficient, though it can feel a bit cold and impersonal given how busy the place gets. We tried a salmon rillettes tartine with avocado and a salad with smoked salmon — both well prepared, tasty, though nothing exceptional. Portions are not very large, but prices remain fairly reasonable.
All in all, it’s a great spot for a quick lunch during a walk in Geneva, especially on a sunny day to enjoy the terrace. Be aware that you might need to wait a bit for a table, as it’s...
