I visted Laxmi Indian restaurant in Lausanne on the evening of 24 August 2018 with my family, consisting of 4 adults and 2 children. When we arrived at the restaurant, there was no welcome or greeting. The waiter did his best to hurry us and to rush the food order, and we had barely taken our seats. Nevertheless, we ordered food for 5 people initially. At the time of placing the order, we mentioned that one of the children was not hungry and did not want to eat anything. The order we placed was valued at around €200 which included some drinks. The owner then told us in an angry and arrogant tone that the order we had placed was insufficient for 6 people. We told him that we would order more food if necessary, just in case boy changed his mind and decided to eat something. We were therefore surprised to find that the waiter only laid five plates on the table, missing out one child. Proper dining etiquette in a restaurant requires a plate to be placed in front of each person sitting at the table, regardless of whether they are eating or not. We found this embarrassing. We questioned why only 5 plates had been laid on the table? The owner said that one child was not eating. We were shocked by the owner's rude and aggressive reply. I requested him to control his rude manner. To our amazement, he then asked us to leave the restaurant. Shocking!!!We duly paid for the drinks we had and left the restaurant. What horrendous service by this restaurant, with a brash, arrogant and rude attitude towards customers. When you consider the exorbitant prices this restaurant charges, you would expect the service to be...
Read moreVery bad behavior from the restaurant. I booked my order through Uber Eats and made a credit card payment. When I went to collect the order the employee asked for payment. So I thought the payment didn’t go well with Uber Eats and made another payment. Later reviewing my bank statements I found there had been a double payment. Since then I have been contacting Laxmi to get a refund or a voucher to use for a next booking. Their response has always been boss is in kitchen will call you back or call Uber and get the refund as they don’t have time to check their statements. This has been going on for a month now. I called the restaurant one more time today and the same response.
Way to treat your customers...
Read moreAhhhh my husband such an Indian foodie fanatic but in his peculiar unique way.
Charming place and slightly lower than the average price of typical Switzerland.
We ordered the lamb kebob, and absolutely one of the best we ever had. Typically it's dry but theirs were most and tender.
My husband ordered the chicken marsala, and finally made with chicken breast and slow cooked till you can slide with a fork. Sauce was flavorful.
The lamb vindaloo was just as amazing as the chicken dish. Only wish is they just provided a little more.
Pepper naan and rice were a perfect compliment to the meal to soak up all the sauce.
If you do like it spicy I recommend asking for it extra spicy ... We did and it could have...
